Legendary Escape Rooms & Axe Throwing — Attraction in Plainfield

My daughter wanted to do an escape room for her birthday with a small group of friends, Easy right? Wrong after reaching out to 4 different places and not getting a response I reached out to Legendary Escape rooms with very little hope. Not only did they respond the staff took the time to talk about what room would be best for the age range of the girls and answered all my questions. Even when I called a few days before hand just to make sure everything was all set there were great and never made me feel like I was nothing them.

We booked the Uncle Tic Tok room and then the party room. It was not super busy but they did have other groups come and go while we where there. We loved the things things they decorated with and it was nice to see not all escape rooms are blah outside of the rooms. My sister even took a photo of one of the decorations to use as inspiration for her next tattoo. The staff were all awesome, all of them were very young but they were all nice, helpful and went out of there way to make sure everything was fun. After the party was over and my daughters friends left the Adults got to try axe throwing and it was a blast! I wish I could give this place more stars because we had such a great time. My girlfriend and i wanted to try and escape room at a different location and spent the day in dt plainfield. We have done multiple escape rooms before usually the workers are all very cool and enjoy helping you escape!! We had a sour greeting at the door did not even ask what our names were for booking he told us he was the manager but had the attitude of a high school part timer. He set us off in the escape room no problems we start trying to problem solve using hints to help us through as they tell you that it is no problem to take advantage of the hints it is their job? Close to about 10-15 minutes in on our 2nd hint the manager begins to be less helpful and has a standoff attitude towards my lady who i took out for a nice time! Not what you expect when spending over $100 he then gets upset mid way through arguing with my woman about what hints he gave her which i did not expect at all!! After that he then sends in a different worker ignoring us as we leave. we have been here in the past and have had lots of fun but after this experience i think its safe to say don't waste your $100 somewhere else will treat you better and cater more towards your night out. I am very disappointed with the escape rooms. We did the kraken room and the dragon room. Both rooms looked awesome and were very aesthetically pleasing. But I noticed in both rooms that there were a lot of puzzles that weren’t thoroughly explained in the room. So a puzzle would start making noises and we wouldn’t know whether we were right or wrong. Some puzzles we got right but they did not activate. Both times we played, we wasted 10-15 minutes of times because a puzzle wasn’t operating properly and our game master was not watching us to help us. We would shout for help, knowing we were doing right, and wouldn’t get any answers. Then after 15 minutes of trial and error eventually it would work….even though we had it prior.

Unfortunately I also think the workers rushed out of the rooms both times. It seemed like they didn’t want to do the end puzzles for us because they also know how difficult they are to activate and do. I just wish we could’ve seen the endings of the rooms.
