We went to eat breakfast on Mother's Day. Of course they were busy because there aren't many options for breakfast food in Plainview. So we expected them to be busy. We did not expect to sit at a table for 25 minutes and not even have our drink order taken. Then, when we flagged down the HOSTESS to ask if we even had a server, she took our drink order, after 15 minutes, someone else brought our drinks to the table, but refused to take our food order, saying instead that they would get our server (who we still hadn't seen). We waited even longer, asking anyone who walked by, including other servers, and the hostess several more times. FINALLY we got a server, who had walked past our empty (of food or drinks) table multiple times. She informed us that they kept sending a server to us that was not even at work... So we finally got our order taken and put in, just to wait an unknown number of minutes longer for it to come out of the kitchen... By the time we actually got our food, we had been in the restaurant for an hour and a half. When our food came, parts of it were undercooked (over medium egg that came with quite a bit of gelatinous undercooked egg white), and parts were cold, but my bacon was overcooked (I like crispy bacon... This was blackened to a level just below char). Overall it was the worst Mother's day breakfast I have ever taken my mom out for. The worst part is that no matter how busy they were, the servers still just walked around as if they didn't have a single table in the place. But, no one seemed concerned with helping us. The poor server who finally got given our very unhappy table did do a good job though, and I made sure she knew it. She also gave us our drinks for free, but that doesn't seem like enough for how long we waited, how badly the food was prepared, and the scene we did NOT cause. I would, at the very least be hesitant to ever go to this IHOP location again in the future. The food is generally good, but when you have a wait staff that doesn't care that a table is not getting service, and a management staff that doesn't even know who is on the clock or in the building, and no one seems to fill them in... Plus, not properly preparing the food before it goes out to a table... It really makes a difference.
UPDATE: We went back tonight and it deserved an update. The service was impeccable. The food was great. They have really come a very long way since the last...
Read moreThis restaurant is horrible, we keep giving it chance after chance and it doesn't get any better! The service is bad, the managers are rude, and overall bad dining experience when we go. The rating is -5 stars! We went tonight at 554 and asked about the Buy one Get one FREE Special they have, and don't advertise, from 3-6. The server, Jesse, said it ends at 6 and I said good because it is 555! He just glared at me. Never said good evening can I help you and was coughing all over us, then asked us what we wanted to drink. Never smiled at all. He came back with our waters and proceeded to tell us the Manager said that we were too late for the special, I took out my cell phone and it was at that time 556. I said it is not even 6, he said well the manager said you were too late. I said well your manager obviously doesn't want the business and by looking around at the 5 people in the whole restaurant, they need the business. I said we won't eat here again. He never said a word, never apologized, nothing! We walked out. We will NEVER eat there again. I will not spend my money in a place like that!! Especially when Plainview is all about SPEND YOUR MONEY LOCAL!! I don't think so and this is one reason we go other places. I have never been treated so rudely by anyone at a Restaurant. I am going to file a complaint with the District and General Manager. Adrian, the Manager, was very rude on the phone when I called up there to ask the District and General Mgr's name. Very unprofessional and would not give me his name, he said I don't know who this is and what this is about and I will not give you my last name. I had already told him who I was and why I was calling. I have never had a "manager", I use that term very loosely here, not give me their name. He was very arrogant and unprofessional, obviously not manager material and sure not good...
Read moreActually the worst experience I have ever had at a IHOP. Very disappointing. we got there and there were 3 tables that were dirty. We were there for an hour and half, and the tables were never cleaned. Mind you, there were two tables with people at them the entire time we were there as well. our server checked on us 1 time. She isn’t even who brought our food. they brought us the wrong food first. our food was cold. Our eggs were disgusting. But we sucked it up because we didn’t want to wait for another 30 min for replacement food. They never came by to check on us after we got our food either, so it’s not like we could have complained anyway. my husband ordered a drink and it had no ice in it, so the waitress just brought him an ice cup. the waitresses were in the kitchen the whole time laughing and talking.
Overall, we did not have a good experience.
Since we live in Plainview, we have eaten here before, and haven’t had a good experience then either.
I ordered a togo and they gave me pancakes with no butter or toppings (it was the cheesecake pancake of the month). everytime we go there is no one bussing tables. it always takes forever to get our food, even when no one...
