Dean's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Plainwell

I brought myself and my family to deans the other evening and had the worst experience I’ve ever had at any food/ice cream place. The older lady taking our order was completely rude to me and my husband and has been very rude every time I’ve been there. we both asked for waffle cones she rudely says they don’t have any (which they did.. other people were getting them and I could see a whole container full of them in the back left corner). we ordered 5 of the special for that day (burgers and fries) we received 5 burger all of which had the wrong toppings and ONE fry. After waiting over 30 minutes to receive any of our order and then be realizing we didn’t get almost half of our order I asked a worker to correct their mistake and she told me I would have to pay extra for the other 4 fries. After telling my family that was at the park what happened they all told me about their own experiences with the older women who works there and all expressed how rude she has been to them too. Also my husband and daughters ice cream was freezer burnt.

I had a great time here tonight! I was riding my bike around Plainwell and took a wrong turn and happened to see this place. It looked really cool so I decided to stop in. They have a really big and interesting menu, tons of different types of ice cream and cool ice cream creations! Also the prices were more then very fair. I'll have to come back many times to try everything that looked good! I got chili cheese fries and a malt. They were excellent, the fries were extra good and crispy and the malt was 10/10 the staff was very friendly! The property is beautiful right on the river and a peaceful quiet park. The owner is absolutely rude and acts annoyed or bothered that you’re even there ordering food or ice cream. I will no longer give my business to these owners. I hope they sell quick because clearly this lady is MISERABLE. Oh and the ice cream is gross and usually freezer burnt. The only thing I recommend is their malts. So when you go there to order food or ice cream be ready for her rolling her eyes, sighing EXTRA DRAMATIC, and mumbling rude comments to herself because lord forbid you come to her establishment. I will give my business to Plainwell ice cream or dairy freeze in Otsego, They go above & beyond to make you feel welcomed. Good luck! Fingers crossed...
