Now, I've heard quite wonderful things about their liquid nitrogen ice cream, so I decided last week that I would check them out. Quite unfortunately, I don't actually eat eggs (as per religious and ethical concerns), so, naturally, I called them up and inquired about whether their ice cream does indeed have eggs.
This was where the beginning of my problems began: the answer was a curt "I don't know." After pressing whoever was on the phone to check, I received the answer "yes", albeit halfheartedly, and a disconnect of the call. Now, I was willing to give the place another shot, so I decided upon my second mistake: to drive down and order something, perhaps reaffirming that the ice cream does not have eggs with the cashier. Upon entering the store and asking, I was, again, given the answer I was originally provided: "None of us know." Expecting the staff (who, by the way, were sitting upon the countertops and chatting to one another) to assist me in this request and find out from the recipe books they no doubt have within the establishment proved fruitless, as I was greeted with a blank silence for around a minute as I stood and waited.
I asked a second time - "does your ice cream have eggs?" And was, again, told "we have no idea." There was no effort to help me, just a silent judgement of my request to make them move from their positions and perform their jobs.
All in all, I do not care about whether they have wonderful ice cream - their customer service is truly horrendous, and I would not recommend this place in...
Read moreCome here for bad treatment from staff members. Honestly, I used to love this place! I loved being able to get drinks out of a lightbulb with my friends! They don't even sell lightbulb drinks anymore even though it's on all their cards. I don't know what has been going on lately but I've been having really bad experiences here. I've had a staff member ask me to leave cause the wait time was too long for an order previously. Today I had asked if they could redeem some of my points for 2 free ice cream rolls. Each one would have been 75 points. They told me they could not do that. I had seen that they took out 150 points from my account anyway even though they told me not to. I had 418 and when I saw the first 75 go, they assured me they didn't redeem it but I had to download the actual five star points app to find out they took it out twice. I had to go back and ask why they would do that if they told me they would not. They did not tell me why, they only apologized and refunded me 75 points instead of even giving me the ice cream I wanted (which would have been simpler cause they already charged me). Then when I put two of my drinks in my car, since I buy for my family, once I came back, one of the staff members asked me what I wanted, like I was there to cause trouble. Read moreUpdate: After speaking with what I assume is the owner of this place, I am left extremely disappointed that I’ve ever patronized this place as often as I have. Instead of hearing out the issue at hand (which is that his crew prepared a drink with possibly curdled heavy cream instead of milk) , he bluntly said “you want a refund right? You’re Indian right?” You Indians always complain about stuff”. Sure, you’ve been in business for 7 years but a lapse in judgement by your staff, your inability to hear customer feedback on how to avoid this in the future, could be one thing but your racist remarks as a response will be more damning in the long term than anything else.
Oh- and if anyone is wondering if he was willing to resolve this -refund or otherwise- I will keep you posted. Not even an apology as a business owner.
It’s not even about the refund but it’s hateful racial stereotyping like this that is unnecessary and unwarranted.
