Hungry Howie's Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in Plant City

The drivers are friendly but if you call in - they have really bad customer service. How hard it is to say "sorry for the inconvenience?" The pizza is totally inconsistent.

I placed an order online, after two hours I had to call and ask after it. After 10 minutes on hold, they finally located the order. Linda immediately tried to end the phone call saying "we'll send it right out!" But it had been far too long, and since they made no effort to apologize for essentially forgetting about my large order - I told her to refund it. She called me back 5 minutes later demanding my full address, phone number, and full name. She again did not apologize for the inconvenience and did not even explain why she was asking me. She wanted me to read the entire credit card info over the phone, claiming it's the only way to get a refund. ONE OF THE REASONS I ORDER ONLINE IS TO AVOID HAVING TO DO THAT VERY THING! It is not secure!

I even said, "Linda, when you inconvenience a customer so badly you are supposed to apologize. It would go a long way." She replied, "Yeah okay bye." I was as nice as any customer could be, so what is her problem? If you have no customer service skills then you shouldn't be on the phones or talking to customers face-to-face. Go back and make some pizzas instead. I'm talking to you, Linda.

Any pizza you order that has veggies will be soggy and disgusting - if you choose to try the place... stick to the meats.

The "Taco Pizza" is a disgusting mess. The people making this pizza have OBVIOUSLY never tasted it. All you taste are the unseasoned refried beans which are so bland, you cannot taste the beef, and it's not spicy. The put cold lettuce and cold tomato on the pizza while it's hot - making the pizza cold & soggy, while all the water comes out of the wilting lettuce and tomato. What the hell were they smoking when they came up with this? It is neither Taco nor Pizza. I fed it to my dogs after removing the wilted...

Super buffet? No. Less than a regular buffet. Maybe that gives them reasons for their prices? Priced higher than most other Hungry Howies around.

They’re pizza was good. But not worth $80 plus for 2 adults and 4 children.

Edit* I don’t want a refund, I just know to never go there again. I know all about inflation, but I was charged 10.99 per buffet, plus 2.99 per drinks. That’s $14 for all you can eat of two to three different types of pizzas & a barely there salad bar. At least Golden Corral has options for those prices. All of us together ate one pizza, if that.. because there was no variation. The pasta salad was good though, but definitely the smallest salad bar I’ve ever seen.

Stopped for the “Super Buffet” & that is VERY misleading. If it had been a real buffet, the prices would’ve made more sense.

I drive everywhere. The Hungry Howies Sports Bar (which could definitely be considered a Super Buffet) in Bradenton isn’t even this expensive. And the one in Zephyrhills is comparable in how much pizza is out for the buffet, at least they’re not claiming to be something they’re not.

It was so busy, and crammed it’s hard to notice much else. The staff members were not the peppiest, and seemed overwhelmed. The location is kind of awful, but that’s what you’ve got to work with and is understood. There was constantly people dancing around others, and was too packed.

Obviously we didn’t choose to go to McDonalds. We chose to be mislead by your signs. I don’t care about McDonald’s prices, cause their over priced cardboard is trash & we...

Update: 8/28/25 Owner called was concerned about the things that had happened that day ..He was very apologetic and ,I am happy with how he took the time and initiative in locating me and called me personally! But after reading the response to my review just now! And saying my card was charged more due to lack of funds holding in my account..Is really off-putting to me cause I have pleanty in my account ! But appreciate the call and a chance to make it right , but clearly I should've read your response first !

I placed a order for delivery less then 2 miles for just one H &C sub and a two liter of Pepsi. The smart mouth girl who took my order told me 28.00 ok gave her my credit card and surprise I had a charge for 45.00 I called back and asked why and she wants to say something slick after I said cancel my order immediately and refund. But let me tell you the way she disrespected me and what she said was not called for .. Yelling at me telling me to come up and do something, your lucky my son was with me! But clearly after reading all the replies from management 🙄 which I can see why this place acts the way it does. And whomever is responding to the truthful reviews with 1 star .Instead of fixing the issues and making it right, you're just making it worse ,by how you're talking about these people. I can tell where your entire staff gets their nasty attitudes from! Must be in your employee handbook to disrespect anyone who complains about your restaurant! I for one will never order or recommend to...
