My family and I stopped here after attending an event in the area. The service was excellent and friendly (our drinks never got empty), and we kinda had some of everything. The onion rings were excellent (wish they would have given us more cause hey I like onion rings), we had the white cheddar Mac and cheese, the green beans, the garlic mashed, the collards, and fries. The Mac and cheese was good, the garlic mashed was phenomenal, and the green beans were some of the best I have ever had...i would of drank the green bean juice in the bowl if I wasn't with the wife and kids, the collards were fresh and cooked right, the fries were well fries. The entrees first the cheeseburger was excellent, a true home cooked grilled burger with a toasted bun, the brisket was perfect, the wings were great which brings us to the ribs. The ribs were good BUT they were a little Smokey for my wife's tastes (unfortunately I had to finish hers off for her). They were NOT bad by any means but I would probably not order them for myself. Their sauces we good however I did not care for there hot bbq to me it was weird spicy not hot spicy. As far as price goes I would say they are about $1 TO $1.50 more then average per entree which makes sense since they are right off the interstate but overall For the portion size and food not a bad value at all. On a side note we did see some fried catfish and grouper go by that was hanging off the plate big. We enjoyed and as a family we all said we would eat there again. A great family bbq place where everyone including the guests were polite and nice. Give it a shot if you are in the area and you will be...
Read moreMy wife and I went for a drive on a Sunday afternoon and got hungry. I pulled up my Yelp and looked for a BBQ place. So glad I found the Smokin Aces Steakhouse!
Definitely an old school Florida hidden gem, this place exceeded all expectations.
I ordered some sweet tea, something I normally don’t do, but I had a feeling this was a place to change my ways. Not too sweet, not too much tea, just right for me. I had 3 glasses of it.
Then had to start with some Parmesan garlic “king wings.” They sounded good but I was wrong. They were AMAZING - the best wings I’ve ever had. Juicy as heck, you could taste just enough smoke to balance the garlic and parm flavor.
Knowing how good the wings were had me excited to try the ribs and brisket. Fall off the bone tender ribs and brisket with just enough chew to make me smile.
For sides, I had an order of mashed potatoes and BBQ baked beans. The beans were just ok but the potatoes were awesome. Thankfully my wife ordered the fried green tomatoes and shared one with me. Thick cut like a steak and terrifically breaded with just the right amount of time to cook made me VERY happy!!
We took a piece of banana cake home because we were stuffed!! We ate it as soon as we got home and it was delicious, with a gentle balance of cake and banana flavoring with just enough frosting and moistness to make it throughout the whole piece we shared.
When I want wings, this will be my place from now on, even though it’s an...
