Sushi Time_Plaistow — Restaurant in Plastow

I think this was my last time at Sushi Time. First few times I went it was great! But over the last year or two it’s become very hit or miss. I ordered beef from here for pick up and it tasted like I was eating straight up fish (which I know it’s hard cuz it’s a sushi place but still) the taste and smell made me a little sick. But my most recent visit was pretty bad customer service wise. I ordered a single thing- my exact words were “could I have the crazy maki roll, and white rice?” She repeated my order back to me with the same exact words and I confirmed. I get my order and there’s two different types of sushi- in my head- I said my order and she repeated it back to me, so, it just must be that my order comes with all of this- nice. I even thought- ah this is probably why it’s called “crazy” maki, cuz it comes with all this. I really didn’t like the taste of one of the sushis but I liked the taste of the other end so I just passed the one I didn’t like out to my friends. (Didn’t say anything because AGAIN I thought this was all my ONE order that she literally repeated back to me) never got my rice either. Bill comes- there’s an extra SEVENTEEN dollars on my bill (I am a broke college student who was already helping to pay for a friend). My waitress added a whole entire extra 17 dollar role to my bill (the one I ordered was 14). I brought it up to her she was very short with me, almost acted like I was dumb for not knowing it was two separate roles WHEN SHE REPEATED MY O N E ORDER BACK TO ME, and basically said ‘that sucks, you still have to pay.’ Also turned out that the sushi I hated was the one I didn’t even order. Even if I still had to pay, that’s fine (because I did) but she handled it with no grace, kindness, or respect, and did nothing to try and help the situation. I'm ashamed of what I witnessed today at this place ! First of all let me start by saying that I use to love coming to this restaurant/bar unfortunately I had brought someone to try out this place and by the end I regretted it ! Me and my fiance ordered the same plate that was chicken teriyaki we both didn't read or know that it came with sesame seeds ! I asked my waitress politely if there was anyway that she can remove the sesame from the order and she made us feel like it was our fault cause we did not say to her that we didn't want it but clearly it was not on the menu ! So she told us again that next time say that we don't want something from the plate PERIOD ! I felt uncomfortable for the way she had spoke to us but clearly I thought the misunderstanding was over so I was happy to receive the new plate with no sesame seeds and not even halfway through our meals she comes with someone else and starts cleaning next to us and it didn't bother until we both felt sick do to the huge scent of bleach ! My pregnant fiance felt like throwing up and wanted to leave immediately ! I felt nauseous myself and truly felt angry and told her that it was not cool to place so much bleach on the floor as people where and are eating and that it was to strong for us to finish our food ! She laughed and offered to go boxes ! Seeing how I was a waiter myself in the past I still gave a good tip and was laughed at by someone who took their job for a joke ! Well that was that and I learned sadly that some people do take things...

Great sushi at this place, honestly. Worst Valentine's dinner I've ever sat through. It's easier to make a list of the negatives here:

-Made a reservation for two at the sushi bar 3 (THREE!!) days before for 8pm and was told sure and to call a few hours before hand to confirm (Which I did and was told okay). -I get there at 8:05pm, don't get sat until 8:30pm, after staring at 2 empty booths and telling them we will take what ever as the sushi bar was full when we walked in. -Sat at the table for 10 min without drinks or a wait staff coming over. -wait staff didn't bother to mention that sushi would be a 1.5 HOUR wait! (I canceled my sushi after waiting for an hour, glad I ordered other stuff) -I wasn't given a fork, and no napkins, even with the sticky martini glass I was given. Not even paper towels or a hand dryer in the men's room as a desperate resort. -TO TOP IT OFF: I got food poisoning the next day from their shrimp tempora or crab Rangoon.

Was this the first Valentine's day this place was open? The worst 2 hour dinner I've ever had. I should have asked for my meal to be comped, had I known I would've gotten food poisoning causing me to miss a day of work I certianly would have.

I would give a 0 of poasible, as this place seriously shattered the expectations I had for it in terma of service and food safety.
