Yo that miso soup tastes rancid. Like iodine. The tea was bland and also tastes rancid like iodine. Im pretty sure it was just hot water and dirty pot. What is my waiter on? He keeps running back and forth in between computers he hasn't turned around or checked on us for 15 minutes multiple times. Dropped the check off and was just in the computer and ran to the other computer and back and forth 15 minutes. Doesn't he have to be a waiter what's he doing in that computer? I had to bring him my check and card to get out of there. At first he brought us the wrong food and there was literally 3 parties in the restaurant and we had just ordered. The rolls were aight. The fish was good and fresh but the rice had that iodine flavor so everything was off. They probably have...

Normally this place would be five stars for me. My mom has been going here for years. And my dad before he passed went here too. However I was super disappointed today by them😟. My mom has dementia and called there to order lunch from 2 hours away. I called them and asked if I could cancel or get a discount in the $70 order (including tip) that she placed. I told them she has dementia. They said no. That they already made the food. I understand that we all are tight these days, but that was rough. Not even a cost discount...? She is 75 and on a fixed income. She will probably continue to go there cause she will forget all about this but that really sucked so I probably won't ever go there again. Not their problem....I know, but just a little kindness would have...

I've eaten here only once, but will return. My salmon teriyaki was cooked to perfection. Not overcooked or overly covered with sauce so that the filet was still tasty as a firm serving of salmon. The accompanying tempura had an unusual coating of panko crumbs. It was not oily, but more a blend of baked and fried. The vegetables remained crisp and flavorful. The rice was slightly overcooked and sticky. Perhaps intentionally to cling to the chopsticks without crumbling. Our side order of tuna maki sushi was excellent. Rather small, but inexpensive. We considered it a great buy for flavor, portions and price. My companion had the chicken teriyaki bento box and was equally pleased. This is our new go-to...

Absolutely hands down some of the best sushi I’ve had in a while!!!! Fresh, delicious, colorful and reasonable for the prices. The restaurant is clean and warm with all the wood inside (even the bathrooms are nice). They gave us free toasted green tea (ridiculously good) and miso to start with which already made them stand out to me. And they give you a stamp card for loyalty points - worth $10! I mean all those perks are nice, and they feel like the cherry on top of what is a great sushi place. Considering how some of the options in the Walnut Creek area are lacking.. this is so nice. I really can’t recommend this place enough - I’ve not enthusiastically written a review like this in a while. So happy we found this place.

BEWARE this place charges an automatic 18% "service charge" and it's not listed on the menu. Food was over priced for what you get. Like others have mentioned, the rolls are very small. The tempura we got was overcooked and the breading didn't seem like your traditional light and fluffy tempura breading. Service was lacking. We had to ask for everything from tea, water, to ginger and wasabi. Those are basic staples that should come with your meal. It's nice they have a frequent visitor card, but this is a one and done for me.

Hands down one of the worst Japanese restaurants in the Bay area. The miso soup was filled with bleach flavor from incomplete cleaning. The tempura entree was doughy and over cooked. The batter is soggy and boy authentic. The rice was dry and cooked probably in the morning. The only thing good was the hamachi sashimi, basically things that didn't require the chef's input was ok. Will never come back again. I have no clue how this place got 4.8 rating. People around here probably have no idea what real Japanese cuisine is like.
