Came in as soon as they opened today (12nn) to try them out for the first time. We opted for the AYCE Sushi. Our server was very attentive to our needs, and was constantly checking in on us and clearing our table. While waiting for our orders to arrive, she pointed us to the "banchan buffet" which consisted of your typical sides such as japchae, kimchi, cheese corn, as well as deep fried items like a variety of tempura, gyoza, even french fries. We sampled a few of them, but was greatly disappointed to find that they were all COLD. Not sure if the food warmers were working right, but the deep fried items not crispy, cheese corn was congealed, and the rest were just plain cold. The other thing I noticed was that the blinds where we were sitting were covered with dead bugs. Not sure if the rest of the blinds were the same way, but definitely disappointing to see as well especially dining in a restaurant that seems to be well-maintained. Thankfully, their redeeming factor was their FRESH sushi, although it could be overly sauced depending on the dish. Their salmon teriyaki was overcooked as well. I enjoyed the flavor of their beef short ribs, and their spicy pork was wonderful. The rolls were really good too. We got our money's worth by ordering most offerings from option C and B. Overall would give this...
Read moreWent here around 9:30 pm since it’s the only full service restaurant open late in the area and my friends and I wanted dinner after seeing a show. They make you choose between AYCE sushi or Kbbq. Tables are set with 1 grill each. We opted for KBBQ and chose the $30/person set which was their cheapest option. We quickly saw why. We ordered their “NY premium steak” and was given, I kid you not, 2 slices of frozen steak stuck together. We also ordered marinated bulgogi and were given what looks like finely minced ground beef… which we couldn’t even really cook since the ground meat would just fall thru the slots in the grill. Salad bar was ok, the offerings looked like it had been sitting out for a while which I kind of understand given how late we got there. We were really trying to give this place a pass given that they’re new and might need some time to iron some kinks out but had a problem with them not giving us an itemized receipt and not disclosing that gratuity was already included (we ended up paying extra tip because of this). Overall, if you’re looking for KBBQ I’d go elsewhere. I haven’t tried their sushi so will not...
Read moreHighly recommend Mumu All You Can Eat Sushi & BBQ! This place is a gem in Pleasant Hill. I loved that they offer two dining options: you can either sit at a regular table and order both sushi and BBQ dishes from the kitchen menu (no cooking required), or you can choose the BBQ grill table, which gives you a lot more meat options to cook yourself—and you can still order sushi à la carte. Super flexible depending on what kind of experience you’re looking for!
The quality of the sushi was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. The BBQ meats were delicious and well-seasoned, and there was a great variety to choose from.
One of my favorite parts was the Korean side dish buffet! They had japchae, kimchi fried rice, corn cheese, chef’s special rolls, miso soup, mixed tempura, French fries, raw veggies for BBQ, lettuce wraps—and even all-you-can-eat ice cream! It really made the whole experience feel generous and complete.
The restaurant was clean, the service was friendly and fast, and everything felt well-organized. I’ll definitely be coming back again. Great value and a fun place for both sushi and...
