i heart art — Attraction in Pleasant Hill

So much fun!! Something different every time. Lots of different activities that vary between completely open ended and structured, and different skill levels, so everyone will find something they love. In nice weather having a little outdoor patio creates a great transition. I have a 2, 4, and 7 year old, and they all love it every time!

It gives us access to materials and projects that would be cost prohibitive at home, like special papers and different kinds and colors of paint, stamps, clay with glaze and firing (added cost for non-members), every clay tool and paint brush I could ask for, assortments of loose materials in the makers space, etc. They also set out projects in order to basically do the “pinteresting” for me, finding projects with great ideas and lots of room for creativity that my kids always love.

And the best part, is no mess at home! Just a great experience and beautiful art to display everywhere that my kids are happy with...

For Christmas 2018 my wife, two adult children, and I paid a visit to I Heart Art to play with ceramics. None of us had any prior experience - and we had a blast! We met with our instructor Christie on a Saturday afternoon in late December and the 4 of us had her to ourselves. Her instruction was thorough and fun! We got to work with clay slabs and also each of us got our turn on the wheel. When our session was over we had some completed objects which Christie glazed and fired for us. I recently threw my daughter’s 9th birthday party here & it was a slime themed party! Very hands on, the kids had a blast, but my husband and I were the ones majorly helping the kids around the studio & at the various slime stations… while there were atleast 4-5 instructors only one was going around asking for the kids if they needed help! (Shoutout Melly & the Dj) overall for $500 I thought they would be more involved with the kids! They had a fun time but I wouldn’t throw my child’s birthday party here again. Cute...
