Disappointed.
That about sums it up. Not the best time to come here especially on Father's Day. They were slammed. On top of probably being short-staffed.
Problems...where to start. Let's start with the 'wait list' near the front door where others could cross your names off the list. It was not monitored. I make this notation because our 'next in line' wait which was supposed to be 5 minutes turned into 20 minutes. Someone else crossed our name off the list AND 3 other parties on the wait list. When I confronted the stout white gentleman with white hair, he claimed he called my name. When I corrected him and showed him where I was standing he realized he made a mistake. We were assigned a table quickly. I assumed because it was Father's Day they weren't prepared. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. He did say the drinks were on him (at least they were), but it got worse.
Utensils, we had none. We also didn't get the cream and sugar we asked for our coffee, 3 times we asked for it. When we did get it, we didn't even get a spoon to stir it. I mentioned utensils, so the guy who was passing out the silverware from table to table skipped us. He HAD enough in hand, but he gave the table behind us and the table after use utensils but ignored us. If that's not bad service I'm not sure what is. How blatant can you be?
Food. Not good. I had the Irish Eggs Benedict. The corned beef tasted like ham. The hash browns were squarish. Average, not good. My spouse had an omelette, it wasn’t good. It was so bad, he only ate part of it.
Tip? Here's a tip, it's a bad business practice to alienate your customers, especially even after the pandemic, why would you turn away customers? We left no tip. Not worth the effort to ever go back there. I recommend going elsewhere with better service and...
Read moreSo many great things! The staff, the cleanliness, the flavors and portions. I only gave it a 4 star because of the wait and efficiency. They only had 1 waitress and 1 busser working. Both of whom where doing there best and had great service with a smile however some expectations I have from a restaurant we're not met because of how busy they were. My cup was empty prompting me to ask for a refill rather then the other way around. My food sat in the window a little longer then I would have liked but was still quite warm upon arrival. I stopped the busser to ask a question and he said he'd be right back but never was.
These things I can understand and forgive especially when you have 12 tables to 1 person but with the big smiles and occasional apologies it's hard to not see past what's going on especially if you have worked the business, which is why I still left a generous tip. With the fun atmosphere and mismatched swap meet coffee cups, I really enjoyed myself, But I can't overlook it enough to still give a prestigious 5 star rating. I will definitely be back.
I recommend the country fried steak The tots and marbled rye. The brats and of course the...
Read moreI had no idea this hidden GEM was a block away from me. It took me forever to figure out what I wanted with their extremely good diverse menu. I am one to usually judge a breakfast place by their Benedicts.. so as much as I wanted the Chicken Fried Streak, even asked waiter which items he liked best, then proclaimed any Benedict, but I would not be dissatisfied with either of my choices and went with a personal favorite Irish Benedict. I even worked at a high end Hispanic Restaurant in the same lot 2 buildings over and suggested to many customers to try this place! We had come out with a brunch that was very good.. but if you’re looking for a busy but friendly atmosphere and Staff with both Classic dishes or unique styles, YOU MUST GO TO THIS PLACE! Im headed back as we speak and excited to go outta my usual comfort go-to’s and try a dish that I know will rock my socks off! Thank You Sherry for providing quality Breakfast in a town that needs more craft in the Ma&Pa businesses and...
