I remember going to Sports Fans all the way back in high school (pretty much 20 years ago, gosh I'm old now). This is yet another long-standing Bettendorf institution I hadn't been back to visit since moving back to the area about two years ago. After spending some time in the Village of East Davenport, I was still hungry and very awake, so I decided to stop by on the way home.

Oh my god...this was not the time to stop by Sports Fans. I don't think I'd seen this place as full as this any other time I'd visit. Literally every table was full and there were no seats at the bar. And the place was LOUD. Fortunately, two people got up from the bar and I was able to get a seat within 5 minutes of entering.

There's not much to say about the decor or furniture of the space. It is filled with televisions all throughout the dining area, all playing sports of some type. I was mostly looking at stuff on my phone and occasionally looking up at the TVs and I swear one of them changed games four times. I swear, it started with hockey, turned to basketball, then to wrestling...I wasn't here for more than an hour, either...

At any rate, I opted to get a single sized pizza (about 9" in diameter) with pepperoni and sausage. Even though Sports Fans was busy, I still got my pizza in 30 minutes and the bartender refilled my soda multiple times as it got low. I had either forgotten or didn't realize that the pizza here is made to Quad Cities style. You know, the crust with the malty flavor, cut in strips, with sauce that's got red pepper flake and cayenne pepper, and crumbly, greasy sausage? Yeah, that pizza...I'm not normally a fan, but this Quad Cities pizza I enjoyed. I would still not get sausage on one of these pizzas in the future. WAAAAY too much grease - soggies up the crust something fierce.

I'd come back to Sports Fans, just not during peak hours. It was a bit loud for me. I enjoyed the space and the pizza I had on my last trip. Thanks...

I went to this establishment for the first time, I will explain the 1 star rating. I ordered a deluxe sandwich which was $10. I was told that chips are included with no up charge. I asked about buffalo chips. I received my bill ($17 - $10 deluxe sandwich & $7 for “buffalo chips”)

The server that managed my table was rude. The server was not attentive with a poor attitude. It felt as if it was her first day serving. This is not about the money but to treat your customers with respect, courteous and be attentive. I was told chips are included, the server says “there’s nothing I can do about it” being charged $7 for chips. 😅

My colleague ordered a chicken salad and 2 beers. His bill was $16. My bill was $17 for a deluxe $10 sandwich and chips.

The next day I called around noon and asked for the owner, I was told by the person that answered that the owner is busy until two and I politely asked if they could call me back. They said no and proceeded to hang up on me. I called back and asked politely if they hung up on me, they said “no”. I asked for the name (same voice). The person said “My name is Debbie, I am the owner”. I have never been to a restaurant and treated with such rudeness. The $7 “chips” are overpriced and misleading. Very unprofessional. Don’t eat here

This was my initial experience. 1 star rating. This owner and servers are unprofessional. I have a feeling the lack of service stems from the top....

We were staying at the nearby casino and came to the restaurant around 6pm. The outdoor seating was awesome! Our waitress took our order, brought our drinks and Bosco sticks, but never came back with our pizza! After watching her deliver food to all the tables after us she came by our table and asked if we needed anything else, to which I replied how about the pizza we ordered 45 minutes ago? She said she would check on it, but before she came back I heard the couple behind us say to her they got the wrong pizza but they didn't care, they ate it anyway....it was probably our pizza because we had ordered before they did! The waitress returned to us and said it would be 12 more minutes. She never returned, we saw her but another waitress brought us our pizza 20 minutes later. It was the wrong size. We ordered the largest and were brought a 12 inch. So I mentioned it to the new waitress, she offered no help except to go get a manager, at this point my husband was on his way to the car so I said no. The food and atmosphere is fantastic but the service is very poor. How many people got the wrong food? How much money did your restaurant loose because obviously people getting wrong food effects food costs? We will be at the casino again and we will eat here again but we will...

They were pretty busy . The Kitchen was overwhelmed I think . It took forever to get our food. Our waitress Gabby was awesome. She was hustling all night . We had a house salad. Pretty good portion size . I shared it with my son . The wings had a good flavor but were definitely mushy . No crispness at all . The pizza took well over an over to get but it was actually really good . I had the chicken bacon ranch. Whole pieces of bacon across it and nice size chunks of chicken . The manager comped our drinks . Definitely appreciated but not necessary. Our experience was probably a bad night and the food is good enough that I would give it another shot if in the area

My concerns with Sportsfans is mostly the attitude of the servers. One day the service is friendly and excellent, the next several times they're rude, not attentive, or they're paying more attention to the regulars and not new customers. Food has always been tasty, but the price for the amount of some things is off. Customers want to feel like they're getting what they pay for. Nachos with real cheese... Was good. However it's a great place to watch sports. Plenty of TVs to find your game on.
