342$ 3/25 group of 6
We came here this Saturday expecting a good time and we're extremely let down. We were a party of 6 for a birthday, the birthday girls ID expired and when we asked if they'd take a confirmation for the ID the waitress disappeared for 20 minutes to ask the manager. We ordered 3 appetizers 2 of them were a huge let down and one of them was mediocre but all of the sizes were wildly unrealistic for $10.00+. Dinner was 4 burgers and 2 fish and chips, the burgers looked good which is why I gave 2 starts but the fish and chips were 40% batter 60% fish and one of us went home and got sick that night from the fish. When the bill came it was $342.00 definitely more expensive than other dinners but the real issue was they over charged us 5$ each on the fish and chips so 21$ a plate for 2 square pieces and fries, when i brought it up to the waitress she went to talk to the manager, again disappearing for 20 minutes and told me i was looking at the fish sandwich, i explained to her my menu was one of the different ones and it very clearly said 16$ she disappeared again and said she could no longer locate any of the 3 menus we had with that price. The only reason I paid without a fuss was because it was a birthday. I explained to the young waitress this was incredibly illegal and extremely poor buisness skills for a new place and to make sure they find those menus and remove them. Dinner aside the facility is over rated. The arcade was "hidden" off to the side with maybe 15 games, all of them boring and like the ones you see in dying malls. The speakeasy was just a large room in the back with some couches, large tvs, a few high tops/tables and some pool tables going and not even with a "hidden entrance" like other speakeasy's. The atmosphere is pretty much college bar vibes with the large tvs, and over the top small town singer in the corner. They had so many possibilities but executed them all poorly. I feel bad to write this review but between the dinner and how we were treated and the manager not even bothering to show themselves. They need to retrain their managers and not put a poor young server in...

Booked a reservation through open table days prior to Saturday 6/25. Arrived at the restaurant and the young hostess went to seat us at a table that was occupied by a couple waiting on their friends to show. I quickly pointed out that these were not our friends and we have a reservation for 2 not 4. Back to the hostess station we went. She asked to see my reservation, at this point an older lady approached the hostess stand. The two of them talked and it sounded like the older lady accidentally gave my reservation to the wrong guest. No apology from her, she didn't even look at me. Thankfully the young hostess was very apologetic and seemed embarrassed/annoyed at this lady for messing up.
We sat in the speakeasy as it was advertised as adult only… well you gotta walk past the kid zone arcade to get there. So the adult only speakeasy was filled with arcade noise. The pool tables inside the speakeasy have the light up card readers, they are distracting and ruin the look/ vibe of the place.
Bartender was sweet and made a good drink. Stars to her all day. Overheard her say she works at West End grill. Were frequent flyers of that place so no wonder she can make a great drink.
The food was bad. Clam chowder was watery and oddly greyish. Husband noped that real quick. I ordered the friend pickles. They were limp and cold. We cashed out after that and opted to get dinner else where. Bill was around 46 dollars after tip. Way to expense for 2 mixed drinks a bud light bottle and two apps. I work in the restaurant bookkeeping field. Even with inflation/ supply chain issues these price margins are way off.
On our way out the same older hostess was at the stand. Didn't say two...

My family loves the G Pub- we will come to have a good burger lunch and some fun appetizers to nibble at and drink some of their ciders or cocktails. Their ciderhouse is awesome and produces a lot of wonderful flavors that we sample seasonally over the past two years at the least. The servers are always quite lovely and we've never had a problem. They employ the young folks in the town and are great for the economy.
Sadly, we had a really poor experience just now on Sunday, where they had a live band playing between the lunch and dinner rush- happy hour! I'm not the late-night pub type of person, but it felt like their band used the same max volume amp when the place had 5 tables filled as they would when they would have 50 tables full. I ended up speaking to the manager in the blue shirt half-way through our time there, explaining that the high volume was distorting the lovely music (Warren Zevon, The Eagles, Foreigner, etc.) and that it was bad / we could not make out the songs. The manager /appeared/ to have maybe said 3 words to the fellows playing in between songs, but the volume did not change. The manager said he already knew as well, and it looked like other people spoke to him before us, so I am not sure why they did not get the message. I had to put in earplugs- the type used on construction sites- just to be able to finish my food and drinks and attempt to enjoy some games with my family.
We left before we had finished our food and our game card and said we would come back later when it was less loud. I left with a headache that I am still reeling from. My family usually loves the group there, but today we were sorely disappointed and felt like we were not...
