This is our second time ordering takeout lobster boils for a crowd and I could not be more impressed with everything and will never go anywhere else. We love lobster, but hate how messy and time consuming the prep and cleanup is when trying to entertain and also enjoy ourselves. Chef David and the Rock Bottom Seafood crew thought of everything. I called earlier in the week for a Saturday pickup. Each lobster boil order contained a perfectly cooked lobster, sweet and clean small to medium size steamers, corn on the cob, a spicy grilled Chorizo sausage, a steamed and seasoned ear of sweet corn, a bowl of thick clam chowder with crackers on the side, fresh homemade coleslaw and the most delicious boiled yellow potatoes in a spicy buttery garlic sauce (everyone is still talking about these potatoes!). Not only that, but they sent along individual cups of hot clean broth and melted butter so nobody had to share. (We upgraded our lobsters from 1 1/4 to 2lb lobsters for a reasonable fee). We also ordered a few chicken tender and french fry plates for the kids. This was adorable, because not only are they actual fresh chicken tenders, but to the delight of the kids-they come with a side of gummy bears! Everything is packed and labeled in tins with lids and placed in thick cardboard boxes for transport. I cannot sing their praises enough. Pickup was a breeze and they kept everything hot while I was stuck in bridge traffic trying to get there. If you love lobster boils but don't feel like doing all the work, this is the best option. The actual location is adorable and immaculate with a gorgeous selection of fresh seafood and smiling cheerful employees. Thank...
Read moreWe enjoy driving an hour to get seafood here, it was always good and good friendly service. This definitely is not the same place. No more plate for 2. The coleslaw is absolutely disgusting! The worst part was the service. We went on a Sunday afternoon. We called our order in about 15 minutes before we were going to arrive. While placing the order the young woman was busy laughing and not paying attention. When we picked up there were 2 people inside eating. Our order was ready. No other orders in site. The 2 young women were busy chatting and laughing. I doubled checked with her that everything was there before I left as we were going down by the canal to eat. No plates, no forks, no napkins and no extra tarter sauce. I donât think anyone has a problem with people enjoying themselves at work but, it definitely should not interfere with very simple customer service. Seafood is expensive and when simple requests for plates, utensils, napkins and extra tarter sauce is difficult for 2 people to handle something is wrong. If they canât handle simple things the owner may want to rethink how they train their employees. We really enjoyed driving down for seafood it was always good, such a shame I donât think we...
Read moreEverything was pretty good. Seafood platter for 2 was very large but clams were a bit fishy. Greek salad was also very large, enough for 2 people, we got shrimp on it. Smashburger was good and fries were crispy. Lobster bisque Was very good. The above review was over a year ago. We had dinner from there last night and I actually had to adjust my review of it. All of the fish that we got did taste fresh but the haddock very dry and overcooked. The scallops were very small and they were swimming in butter and bread crumbs and not very appealing. We would not order either of those dishes again. The coconut shrimp was good, you get five of them. The rice was okay but didn't have a whole lot of flavor and the coleslaw was okay but also kind of bland. The kids chicken tenders were actually great! The Caesar salad was very big probably enough for three people but the problem was they put the salad dressing on it themselves and just did kind of a small blob in the middle. There was not nearly enough salad dressing to cover the entire salad, causing most of the salad to be kind of just dry lettuce. Next time we get that we're definitely going to have to ask for extra dressing and none on the salad just all of it...
