Surprisingly amazing. I guess when the locals tell you, "it's good!", you should try it out. The Pokey locals didn't fail on this one. Coming up to the location it looked a bit sketchy, parking was scarce, and it has a bunch of teams (go Raiders!) painted on the outside. My thoughts of bar and grills, coming from Las Vegas, was a bit biased, and even walking into the location definitely didn't ring elegance. But from the time we walked in the customer service was amazing! We sat wherever we wanted and right away were greeted with a smile. We were asked about drinks and then supplied right after and you can tell they are more of a sports bar as the drinks didn't taste all that well. Now the food is where it's at. I had a Jalapeño burger (my mexican curse) ,of course, and my wife had a chicken wrap. Instant love!! At that moment nothing else mattered. The environment disappeared, which wasn't bad to begin with, and the food melted in our mouths. But then again, that was just our experience. Take some time to check this place out, who knows, you might see some amazing memorabilia you haven't seen since a kid while eating some tasteful food. Great food, good place, great prices, amazing customer service and just a well placed hole in the wall. Definitely a place of interest for the next time I'm in Pokey (Pocatello, Idaho for you none...
Read moreOkay I'll get to the point and not sugarcoat this --- the steak "sandwich" It's an okay cut of steak with a half (keyword - HALF) of a slice of toasted bread. AKA, it's an open face steak sandwich. Maybe this is an Idaho thing, with only serving open face sandwiches and labeling them as not an open face??
Steak cooked to order - absolutely. Seasoning - mediocre. Fry sauce - great. Tots - cooked well & crispy. Drinks - tasty and poured well. Prices - cheap.
To be honest, it's a cheap steak "sandwich" to which I came in with moderately low expectations. However, my co-workers will rant and rave about this joint, bringing us here every Tuesday for steak "sandwiches". Thus causing us to travel all the way from IL to ID to try this delicacy of a steak "sandwich".
Maybe one day I'll be impressed, but today was...
Read moreMy experience here was comically bad to the point it probably sounds like I’m making this up. The bartender was sweet, but the chef loudly and openly complained about having to make my food when the bartender sent my order back. Made me feel uncomfy but whatever. When I received my food I got what I hoped to be a spot of flour on my bread. I started eating and then I literally saw a mouse scurrying across the kitchen floor. I brought it up, and apparently they’ve been having a mouse problem in the kitchen for a while. Well that kinda grossed me out, so I reevaluated my bread, and upon further inspection I’m like 99% sure they served me moldy bread because there was definitely blue and gray spots present. I would not advise eating here unless you enjoy mold, mice, and being...
