Being a transplant here from NJ/NYC area for 6 yrs now, it's been hard to find food that in Monroe County that can satisfy our palate that's been used to the a certain taste for 40 years. One of them is that certain taste for pizza. Usually, the pizza from all the places we have tried are either bland ,salty, or taste like those big chain stores. Until today, we have been getting our pizza from a place in Mt. Bethel because it's the only decent place we have tried and it's a long ways from where we live here in Pocono Township. We finally got to try this place after a day at Camelback since I'm too tired to make dinner. A little heads up, this place is under new management since early spring and the new owner has kept the original name. Speaking about the owner, he is very friendly and takes his time to say hello to his customers no matter how busy it was, which it was when we were there. He managed to chat with every table... Now, to the pizza. OMG! the crust is thin and crunchy! The sauce taste like home made unlike others we have tasted. There is great amount of cheese and "grease" that rivals pizza we have had in NYC, Hoboken ,JC, etc.! Even with all of that, when we got home, the pizza wasn't soggy. Usually, when we order a pie, we usually have about 2 slices left and end up being discarded the following day. My 7yr old daughter usually only eats 1 slice and she ate 3 because she said it was really good. Today was also the first time we finished a whole pie and in under 30 minutes! I didn't believe at first about the hype that it's "voted #1 pizza in the Poconos", but after today I wholeheartedly believe it and it's only a few minutes from us! Unfortunately, there is no home delivery but if we can go to another county to get pizza, we surely can take the 7 minute trip there! This is a 10-star...
Read moreGREAT WOLF LODGE GUESTS BEWARE. As other reviews mentioned, the staff here is extremely rude. After waiting 2 hours for dinner for our family, we got nothing. They even kept our $10 tip, $5 delivery fee & “$1.50 local convenience fee”! And did not deliver our food. When we called to check up on our order purchased through “Slice” (as their website asks you to do for quicker service). We were told that the incorrect phone number was given to and they would bring our order back. PaPa’s claimed somebody had waited 20 minutes and tried to reach us. Meanwhile, the room number was on our order. One would assume 20 minutes is long enough to go to the front desk to ask us to be reached? Nonetheless, they told us the pizza would come back and confirmed the phone number was correct. Our very hungry family sat around waiting for the phone to ring and after another 30 minutes, we decided to call back. This time we were received with an extremely hostile response. We were told that we needed “to be more responsive” and to “come pick it up!” We explained our children needed to eat and we had been waiting by the phone. We asked for a refund now and they rudely said “Call Slice!” Then we were yelled at some more and hung up on. FYI, Slice CANNOT REFUND YOUR MONEY (even when you do not get the food). Again, when providing a room number you think “they know where I am”. But for another 20 minutes (we were told they waited the second time around), no one thought to ask the front desk to call our room. Seems simple enough? I don’t know what else you do for 20 minutes while you “try to reach us?” Ultimately, we had to pay to feed our family twice (now at 9 o’clock at night). Our evening was ruined. Do...
Read moreThis place was unbelievable! I first called to make sure they were open because of a recent power outage due to thunderstorms that came through. A young women answered the phone and she had zero personality and seemed a little annoyed to have to answer the phone. No biggie, I can’t base that phone call on going to this establishment. They were open and once we got there no one greeted us. We sat down and a few in our party started having issues breathing. Not sure what was in the air but... Then we try to order, my wife orders our food and then asked for ice water and the owner said we don’t have ice. Her reasoning for not having ice was because of the health department. Wait what? So if you don’t want to deal with the health department for ice then what does that mean for the establishment... So needles to say you can’t get ice water here. You are forced to buy a 2 liter or individual cans.
There were two family’s actually in our party after my family ordered which there are 5 of us the second family proceeded to order. They have 6 kids so there are 8 total and as he ordered the owner was annoyed that he was ordering so much food. She said are you serious to all the food that he was ordering, again why would someone ask that question? So after he finished ordering we sat down and just felt unwelcome. We all decided that we were going to leave and cancel the orders. As we were walking out the owner said why are you leaving and we said that we felt uncomfortable and that we just wanted to cancel the order, her reply was good I don’t have enough food anyway! Again, really?
I would seriously reconsidering going to this...
