I am not sure why anyone would rate this place well.
SERVICE - poor. No refills for coffee, no water, no "do you need anything", Forgot something from the order. And no wonder - manually written check with the final receipt that has no names for what you ordered, just prices, feels like someone needs a new register. How do you even know what's sold. 👀 Nothing offered to kids (aka crayons), which is typical for diners.
FOOD. Oh my, where do I start. I don't have huge expectations from Diners, just classic good homemade type of food.
Cheesesteak Omelette - Peppers & Onions - it was very small and SO blend, no salt/pepper and NOT made from real eggs - no way
6 oz. Steak with 2 Eggs, Potatoes - please do NOT get that one. That was SO disappointing. And for $19. 👀 Literally Boiled meat. Why did they ask me how I liked it cooked? I asked for medium assuming the steak will be cooked properly.
French Toast - both of my kids didn't like it and for them not to like French toast - it's hard to imagine. We'll, it felt like a cheap toasted white piece of bread. I asked for Blueberries on a side and to my shock, they were thawed from frozen, not fresh.
We all went hungry, stopping by to outlets for crepes and eating few snacks we brought with us.
If you want Breakfast that tastes good, we liked Dale's...
Read moreGot screamed at by some man doing construction because we walked the dog to pee on the grass. Didn't even get to eat. This man was setting up chairs and tables outside and my partner was on the far side of the grass, instead of talking to my partner like a civilized human, he instead decided to scream at him (next to traffic going around which he didn't hear). He then followed my partner, and when I saw the interaction, I overheard him asking if there "was a problem" with a wannabe tough guy attitude. As someone who works in hospitality business at a hotel visited by people from all over, this type of customer service isnt it. This individual is most likely the owner, so i know this review won't change anything. But this was so disturbing we got back in our vehicle and continued to the next diner down the street where we were greeted by smiling faces.
If it's so important to stay off the grass area i highly suggest more signs installed. The area is pretty ugly so I am unsure as to why this small area of grass is...
Read moreThis was an unexpected excellent diner. We happened to stop by on the way to the shooting range in the same area, and it hit the spot.
The three of us all got a BLT, coffee, and a potato side. I had the shredded hash browns, while my 2 guests had french fries. There was also the choice of diced hash browns, which I thought was great.
As you can see the portion was pretty big. I couldn't even finish all my hash browns, but I wanted to because they were delicious. I tried some of the fries and they were crispy and tasty as well.
The waitress was polite, professional and attentive; the atmosphere was inviting, clean, and spacious; and everything was just on point.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone up in the area visiting the Poconos. By the way you pay at the register after you finish eating, which I thought had a sweet, old...
