Also had the smore's desert, all the food was pretty good, steak was cooked perfectly to medium temp. The smore's desert was very good, and kids really enjoyed the burgers, but not so much the Mac and Cheese. The atmophere here was nice, clean, tables cleaned between customers. There is a Kids menu, but it does not include drinks. However, the worst part of this place was the service, it was VERY slow, waiters/waitresses would dissapear for long lengths of time, long time to even place the order too, food didnt take too long to come out as they had food runners which was nice, but the poor service was frustrating. This was the case for both visits. (had different waitress each time) I understand staffing here, but the place was not packed at all, and we ate both times at the end of day and the place was fairly empty. Also on top of this, we were a party of 7 with a 6 month old baby with us, which they counted that as 8, and automatically included their 18% gratuity, which first trip here we didnt realize, and ended up tipping twice on same bill (this was 2 families on 2 seperated checks). Server said nothing and just went with it and took the nearly 30% tip. Be aware that they leave a large blank tip line, and will auto charge a tip near the food line towards the top, which is very easy to miss. Be aware that for parties of 6 or more, they already charge an 18% tip on your bill; HOWEVER, they do not include that they did this on the merchant copy of the bill that you are supposed to sign and leave with the waiter. Instead, they leave a blank line for the tip and a blank line for the new total without mentioning that the tip is already included. As a result, many people (including my senior mother who treated us to dinner) don't realize it and leave an additional tip (our waitress, Stephanie, ended up receiving a 42% tip as a result). What bothers me is that she didn't even say anything or confirm we wanted to leave an additional amount after collecting and looking at the bill after my mother paid. I called the hotel who refused to do anything about it because my mother already signed the bill and "should have looked more carefully". When I told them the merchant bill didn't mention the gratuity already charged, she acknowledged that the resort restaurants should be made aware (yet still didn't do anything about it). Despite my request to be seated away from the cold kitchen area—due to my daughter’s asthma and my own sensitivity to cold—we were placed at a table directly next to it.
I noticed several empty tables in warmer areas of the restaurant, but my request for a different seat was not accommodated. As a result, both my daughter and I were uncomfortably cold throughout the meal, to the point that we had to leave early and take our food to go.
This experience was disappointing, especially since it was a reservation we had looked forward to. I would strongly recommend reviewing how seating preferences are handled, as more attentive and considerate service at the front could significantly improve the overall...
