Arrived around 11am on 08/30. Waited at the podium for about 10 minutes before flagging down a young man that would be ultimately our server. Multiple workers glanced at us while we waited, no acknowledgement
After a quick drink order, we put in our food. The server didn't talk at all during the process nor look up from the tablet, but I took it that he was new and still getting a hang of things. After receiving our food, we were missing our youngest childs meal, our oldest recieved the wrong meal and my supermelt was incorrect. It took multiple tries to flag him down. During the quick conversation it became clear that he didn't know the menu quite yet, and that he was either very shy or had difficulty talking as we had to strain to hear.
He corrected the order and apologized we were content. He did one check back and all was well. Until it took us 20 minutes to flag him down AFTER we finished eating to order ice cream. Just to be met with wide eyes an a "Oooh, our ice cream worker isn't here. We can't serve any," It was just after 1230pm at this point. I could understand if it was still breakfast time
While I appreciate him offering to attempt to make our kids their sundaes, he didnt sound confident. Plus my husband and I wouldn't be able to get ours. The whole reason we decided to eat at Friendlys was for ice-cream, like the majority
We asked if there was anything that could be done to compensate, he simply said "No theres not. I'm Sorry" We asked for the bill and promptly left. Yes we could have asked to speak to the manager on shift, but we just wanted to get out of there and not cause any scenes
The 2 other families sitting around us weren't informed by their servers prior to ordering food that they wouldn't be able to order ice cream either.
Maybe it was just bad timing on our part, and the other families were able to get ice cream after we left. But it was very upsetting to spend $70 on a meal and not get everything included. And then go somewhere else to spend another $20 as our oldest was looking forward to her Monster Mash.
And yes, even though service was bad. We still left 20% cash. We both have experience working in food service and know...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. Went there today for lunch. I arrived with my wife and two kids. We explained that we would be a party of 10, but the rest of our party was not there yet. They sat the four of us down. We strapped in our one year old into the high chair. Set up our 3 year old with crayons to color, took coats off and settled in. Not easy with a one year old and a three year old. The manager then came over and told us we had to leave our table because they were giving it to another group and that we would have to wait out front. My wife and I explained to her that they had already sat us and we had already gone through the trouble of settling in our baby in the high chair and our toddler. The manager said that it was store policy that if the rest of our party was not there yet then we could not be seated. I reminded her that we had already explained to her before we were seated that the rest of our party was not there yet and they had sat us anyway. And I also reminded her that we had just set up a baby and a toddler which is not easy to do.At that point she very rudely said that the person that sat us didn’t know the policy, but the manager was there with this person when I explained this before we were sat. They said we had to leave the table and they gave it to other people. We would have left, but didn’t want to confuse our out of town family members that were meeting us there. This place clearly does not care about customers, especially customers with small children. The actions of the people at this restaurant were outrageous, heartless, and despicable. We will never go there again ever, and will probably not ever go to any other friendlys again ever either. They also screwed up the order too, but that is almost besides the point after the...
Read moreTerrible. Arrived for a late dinner on a weekday. Not very busy. Many open tables, but no host or anyone at the front (not even in the pickup/to go area). As we walked in (4 people including myself), another family was walking out (without being sat) and the woman told me they were waiting over 15 minutes without being greeted at all! So I’m a very patient understanding person (I’ve been a server for many years before). I get sometimes you gotta wait-thinking a worker would at least greet us and tell us what’s up. So we wait alongside at least 4 other families. Mind you, all the servers are now walking right by us all…not saying a word and diverting eye contact! I finally walk up to a server and ask politely “Are we supposed to seat ourselves or is there a host?”. He had such an attitude and said “They are coming”. Well- another 7 mins or so and we just walked out. So rude, no manager in site…no host. Not one server came over to even say something like “Hi..we see you..sorry about the wait but we are coming” or “Hi! There’s a 20 minute wait!” NOTHING! Who trained these people?! Felt like I was on an alien planet. I can only imagine how terrible the servers would be and how long our food would take! NEVER GO here! Not even for take out! There were a few people waiting just standing there at the take out area! There’s so many other food places nearby. You’d think Friendly’s would want your business-thus one apparently does not need any more customers-like I said…they were not packed, it was after dinner rush. There were plenty of clean tables available and plenty of servers walking around (all avoiding the front door) And it also was not too late (I think around 7:30). I felt bad for the other families who had smaller kids-they...
