Before I go all in on my negative review of this place, let me start off by saying this: the service and the waitstaff here were great! Absolutely no issues and no qualms with them whatsoever. Stephanie and Frank were both great, being very nice and attentive and eager to make sure everything is going alright and everyone is being taken care of, especially considering we were a larger group (11 of us). Frank especially was cracking a lot of jokes and having a lot of fun with our group.... he's a great man, that Frank.
Unfortunately, the service was the only positive part of my dining experience at The Log Cabin. The menu, the food, THE PRICING?!?!?! Not great. This place is insanely overpriced for the quality and quantity of the food you're getting.
I got the Angry Reuben, which was only listed on the "Today's Specials" menu... and which did not include the price. Me and my friend (who also got that sandwich) didn't find out until we got the bill that the Angry Reuben is $26! While the sandwich itself wasn't too bad, it wasn't too great or much of a standout either... it was average, AT BEST. For something that's supposed to be spicy, I didn't think it was. Plus, I also asked for corned beef but ended up with pastrami instead (which I'm pretty sure was just some generic prepackaged deli meat). That Spicy Reuben was not worth $26. For that kind of money, I expect something of higher quality or something much more filling than what it actually was. Quoting my friend who also got the Angry Reuben: "For $26, that should've been a triple decker sandwich"
The food the rest of my group got was also insanely overpriced, and in some cases was just not even good. Chicken wings are ordered and served by the pound here, which equates to 7-8 wings or so. The chicken wings are also sold at "Market Price", which on that day was $17/ pound, or $28 for 2 pounds. While the wings themselves were pretty good, $17 for 7-8 of them is robbery. Not worth the price.
Another one of my friends got the Pesto Chicken Flatbread for $20, which according to him was insanely salty and had way too much olive oil, as well as very few pieces of chicken on it. He couldn't even finish it because it was messing with his stomach.
Another person in my group got The Truffle Fries appetizer, which were about $19 and apparently came with little to no truffles on them. My friend who got the flatbread was mad that the Truffle Fries appetizer cost just as much as his actual entree... and the quality and quantity of food between the two dishes was a night and day difference despite the similar price.
Another person in my group ordered a Caesar Salad... $27. Overall, a vast majority of the menu items are around the $20 mark AT LEAST, IF NOT MUCH MORE THAN THAT. And I reiterate: for the majority of us there, what we got, both in terms of quality and quantity, was not worth the price we paid for.
Also, another weird detail of the menu is that it says sharing entrees between two people adds a surcharge of $5 to the bill. I have never seen any place do that before. That comes off as very anti-consumer and not consumer friendly. Because of that, I believe The Log Cabin is not the kind of place to split an entree or a meal. I recommend going somewhere else where you won't be nickeled and dimed for splitting a meal.
In general, it really seems like Management does not know how to run a restaurant, and perhaps has no real experience in the restaurant industry at all. Between the insane menu prices, the quality and quantity of the food being subpar, and the $5 surcharge rule for splitting a meal... I have no clue what they were thinking when they were making the menu.
Also, it felt like the place was understaffed. Took quite a long while for us to get our food. Granted there was 11 of us, other places we ate at on our trip did not take nearly as long to serve us our food. And I put the blame solely on Management for this, not on the service staff. I think the service and waitstaff did the absolute best they could given the hand they were dealt with...
Read moreUgh where do I start…. TLDR? Just don’t come here… first off everything on the menu is $20+ or “19.99” whatever idc what truly pisses me off is paying an extra $4 for fries. Who tf do you think you are????? Otherwise you get some chips. Seems like they may have been fresh made but when I’m paying $22 for a burger I expect some damn fries. I ordered the campfire burger and was asked how I wanted it done, I said medium rare. What’d I get? Idfk but I know the seasoning was the burnt crust of a burger with some extra bland Mac n cheese on it. Extremely mid at best. I tasted more of the cornbread bun and burnt burger than anything else. They straight up forgot that my mom ordered anything and we had to remind them that she ordered food. After which was promptly brought out. When she did get her food, that chicken was dry as all hell. Seasoning was okay but it was about as dry as an Popeyes biscuit….. My pops ordered the alfredo, or what little they had left… the portion to price ratio on that was just laughably bad. Also the wait time……. Gahhhh leeee the wait time was atrocious. Ordered around 4 and didn’t get anything till 4:45-5pm. Meanwhile THERE WAS ONLY 5-6 OTHER TABLES BEING USED. THIS RESTAURANT HAD AT LEAST 20 TABLES CMON NOW!!! The guys next to us straight up didn’t even eat their food cuz of how trash this place was.. both their burgers were about as burnt as mine I’m guessing cuz they said they didnt get what they ordered. For a place that has the primest of real estate, you’d expect them to have semi quick service and some real good food for the price; what’d I got was the exact opposite.. dog slow service, trash overpriced food, and a wallet that wishes I never ate there as much as I wish I didn’t. Otherwise the atmosphere was solid. I didn’t mind it at all. Very warm and inviting. Thank God for a rerun of the F1 monza race cuz otherwise I would’ve just left b4 I got my food and dropped a $20 on the table to cover drinks and whatever else they feel like their entitled to. For a family day trip this spot left us with a bad taste in our mouths no...
Read moreWe were away on a small vacation for son’s bday. We decided to stop at try Log Cabin Bar and Grill. Upon going was a little difficult to find and kind of hidden behind stairs. As well as logo hard to see. Took awhile to get our order once sitting and place was busy but not over crowded etc… to where shouldn’t have taken so long. Ordered the Trash Can nachos that honestly tasted was made of the cheapest sourced ingredients such as shredded cheese directly out of store bought bag, cheese whiz thrown on top, plain store bought nachos, small servings of salsa, sour cream and guacamole. Probably sorriest Nachos I’ve ever ate as well as over priced. I and another family member got a campsite burger and black and bleu burger. Both of us agreed was the worst tasting burger I’ve ever had in my life tbh. Just had a very off taste. Not sure if it’s the meat or the grill wasn’t cleaned well before cooking or what. Burgers are typically to me a very safe option and this was the sorriest burger I’ve ever ate. To upgrade to fries is 4.75 surcharge as I could care less to have chips with it. Most places fries included with meal. Fries did taste fine though. Brought the burgers to $25+ for each meal of burger and fries. Wayyyy overpriced. The half moon mozzarella was good. But to me overpriced as well. My mother in father in law did like the chicken fajitas as well as my wife liked the quesadilla. Kids chicken fingers and fries were fine as well. Will definitely not be returning whenever I am in the area again. Not worth the price of what the food cost. Service was just ok. No bathroom on site. Have to leave to go to the general public bathroom of the outlets which were disgusting. Suggestion is to go to Barley Creek Brewery instead. Much better food, food selection,...
