Rook Coffee — Restaurant in Point Pleasant

Rook Coffee is a efficient place with good quality coffee. I wouldn't recommend this for those that can't handle a harder coffee. However, there lighter roast can ease you into there good coffees they have. Some of there iced and hot coffees have different flavors that changes the coffee in some ways which can make some coffee pretty good. My personal favorite even though it wasn't a permanent coffee on the menu was there iced coffee toffee style. Which was like a candy like taste to the coffee. Currently there's a berry tea as there seasonal which seems like it'll be a good drink. They also serve various baked goods similar to those of like Starbucks. The parking isn't too bad and the lines can look big in the inside but don't be discouraged since the staff moves coffees through pretty quickly so you'll have your order in no time. The staff is also very friendly and respectful as well which is a plus for any establishment. For those who want a coffee but want something more elevated compared to things such as Dunkin or Starbucks, Rook Coffee is a good starting point to get into more unique and harder coffees so it won't be as jarring for those who never had a café...

I recently had a very disappointing experience at the Point Pleasant Rook Coffee location. I ordered three coffees, two of which were supposed to have a splash of half and half. When I picked up my order, I found the cups only 3/4 full.

When I asked to have them filled to the proper level, Matt, the manager, told me he would only fill them if I paid for two extra shots. He gave a smug response, saying it was “due to the ratio that was concentrated.” Despite my confusion, he insisted on charging me extra.

I then asked if a black coffee would be filled to the top, and he confirmed it would. This inconsistency makes no sense. As a regular Rook Coffee customer who drives over 30 minutes round trip and spends over $5 per drink, I expect my order to be made correctly.

This experience was frustrating and left a bad impression. I hope the management addresses this issue to ensure better service...

I drove right past the huge line at "DnD" straight to Rook this morning. Just make sure to download the app and order before you leave or order from the app when you get there. With the Covid precautions they have in place, you can only order from the app, but it makes it MUCH easier and faster. They meet you at the door with your order way before the time indicated on the app. You just trimmed off about 15-20 minutes waiting in line at "DnD"!

If I had any issues it would be that they didn't have sleeves for the cups and the coffee cup was hot. I understand, however, better for the enviroment. The other would be that the lid on the 20oz size cup is not tight enough to withstand pulling out of the cup holder in my car. So remove with caution! Fix that and I would give them six...
