I’m a customer that comes from Texas, and every time I come to California I love going to Tierra Mia. I am not one to complain, but I was at the location in Pomona, CA, Dec 27th at 11pm (they close at 12am) and there was loud music with profanity that the staff had on in the lobby. It felt like we were at a club having to literally yell to talk to my husband and sister in law. I had my 3 month baby with me as well. While ordering I kindly ask if they could lower the music and he said he would but normally it is always loud because it is close to closing time. There were other people studying and reading.
As I waited for our drinks they did not turn the music down. I walked up with my baby in my arms to the front and asked the employee making the drinks and asked her if they could turn the music down. She said no they would not and the lobby would be closing at 11:20pm. I told her that we come from Texas and just wanted a to drink some coffee in peace with my baby & we would leave within 10 minutes of getting our drinks and breads. She said no we will not turn it down and I’m more than welcomed to leave if I did not like it. That is when I said I would rather get a refund because that was very rude of her to say that and she said “of course I’ll give you that refund!” Being sarcastically nice. I said are you really preferring to give a refund than to turn down the music ( with profanity)? And she said yes! And walked away. She did not care for the company’s financial business at all.
I stood there holding my baby and I asked the guy making the drinks with a tattoo around his forearm and the girl with a piercing in between her eyebrows in drive thru “hey, who is the manager?” and they preceded to ignore me. I felt so humiliated and belittled by the staff because the whole crew of the night of Dec 27th at night were being disrespectful for no reason. My husband even tipped them when he paid. I called my sister in law to come to the front with me and I started recording and that is when the girl I was talking to who walked away (she was wearing a blue collar shirt) came back very friendly and said they will make us the drinks and give us a refund still. I told her I did not want a refund I simply wanted the music down a little bit. She said they will turn it down and then I sat down and they turned the music completely off and announced they were closing the lobby at 11:20 ( it was around 11:17) at that time. The same girl calls us to the front and asked us if we wanted to speak to a manager and we said yes. The Person I spoke with is named Sammie. She seemed annoyed by the situation and wanted to tell me the lobby will close early at 11:30 due to unsafe feeling for staff member that was not because of me but of an incident where a staff member did not feel safe. I know they legally cannot kick us out. Other places do not have early closing or loud profanity music with rude staff members.
Other staff members opened the doors so I am confused if they do not feel safe they can lock the doors from the outside. Instead they opened the doors for the cold air to go in so the customers can get cold and I repeat, I had my 3 month baby in my arms. They started slamming the outside chairs bringing them in very loudly scaring my baby. I cannot believe how the ENTIRE staff acted. I know they are young and want to listen to music but that was not the time or place for that. I hope you have video of the footage to see what happened that night. I did not want to drink my drink anymore because of fear they could have possibly spit in my drink. I hope you are able to get better staff. I saw on the Pomona Tierra Mia google reviews another customer had a similar experience with the music. I do not want this to happen to anyone else, especially a tired mom who just wanted a coffee after...
Read moreThis is my third time visiting Tierra Mia. The only reason I know is this place is because a friend of mine insisted I should try it. I love Claremont coffee shops. I reluctantly did though, and I’m glad I did, the location in Sourthgate/Bell area was phenomenal customer service there is what made me want to visit again. • Sadly that wasn’t the experience here at Pomona. The customer service here SUCKS! They rush you like cattle, no one greets you especially the people taking your order at the drive through with their tablets, they’re unprofessional, rude and not warm or educated in customer service. It’s so expected of Pomona sadly. • It’s sad because I live here but I’d rather take my money else where. Now I have to say that the second visit to this specific location once you get to the window is much better. The people were super kind and helpful. It’s such a mixed feeling because their lavander white mocha latte is amazing but is it worth the hassle of the drive through people? I don’t know, my husband didn’t even bother ordering because the girl who helped us 8/3/25 at the drive through was SUPER rude. • I may come back but maybe I’ll come inside next time. I dunno, can’t really even post on my IG because I only recommend good experiences, this one was definitely not it and I do t think I would recommend this location. • This review is for the Pomona location and their customer service, because the...
Read moreOk, so I gave this place 2 stars because their honey vanilla latte was delicious! But I was so disappointed in their customer service. Seemed to me, a lot of young kids who didn’t care (I am 33 years old). I had never been there but I babysit 2 kiddos and they convinced me to take them. I took two kids plus my 6mo old baby. We ordered drinks and pastries. We drove away and realized we didn’t have some of our pastries. We turned around (thankfully we weren’t that far) and there was a line for drive through. We happened to catch an employee walking in (my baby was screaming by now). I said excuse me, told him we were missing purchased items and handed him my receipt. He handed it back to me and told me to go through the drive through. I asked if he would be able to send someone out with the pastries— I had a screaming baby and the drive through line was getting longer. He told me “ok.” We waited for about 10 Minutes and no one came out. I couldn’t get out of the car and had to go back in the drive through line and wait another 5 minutes (15 minutes now).
Like I said, it was delicious but I probably would not return because the service felt like kids who didn’t care about the establishment or...
