Disappointing Experience with Great Food

I'm sad to write this review, as I've always loved dining at Brancas. The food is consistently delicious, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. However, my latest visit was marred by a frustrating experience with one of the staff members.

My husband and I visited on January 22, 2025, and filled our plates with carbs and salads. Unfortunately, the meat wasn't ready when we arrived ( they had only well done and we like medium rare), and we were told by Ian to wait. We sat down to eat our carbs and salads while waiting for the meat to be prepared. Notably, our plates were still full when we began waiting, as we had just started our meal.

Here's where things went wrong: when I went to get the meat, the staff member (Ian) informed me that I would be charged the price for meat only even tho I did not have meat with my initial serving. I understand the restaurant's policy, but I felt this was unfair, as we hadn't had the opportunity to get the meat yet due to the delay. I did argue with him about it and showed him that our plates are still full with food and the only reason I didn’t get the meat before is because HE told me that I have to wait. He couldn’t care less.

What bothered me wasn't the small fee itself, but the principle and the way it was handled. This incident left a sour taste in my mouth.

I hope the management will take my feedback constructively and address this issue. Despite this experience, I still believe Brancas is a great restaurant, and I hope to have a better experience on my next visit.

This is rotisserie buffet. If you "eat in" You can order "all you can eat" for a set price or pick what you like and pay by weight. But my favorite is "take out". I often stop here on the way home and get the $14 take out meal. You get to choose three meats from the many spinning spits cooking before your eyes. There is a ton of sides and rice piled on your take out tray and a stop at the salad bar included in the price. I always have plenty of choices. My friend and I share one take out meal and have lots left over. There are also $10 and $12 take out plates which give you as much rice and sides but only 1 or 2 meats on these take out meals. Came across Brancas while in the strip mall, and decided to step in and give it a try. From a non-Brazilian perspective, confusing / misleading pricing. Was told 11.99/lb and ended up getting charged 15.99/lb. Apparently, the stewed pumpkin and fried yucca are considered meat? Lol. Or I didn’t put enough rice in the box? Super arbitrary. They should just be more upfront about it. Not a big deal, but left a poor first impression. Meat was good, but nothing spectacular. All of it was over-cooked - medium-well, so if you like that... I also came in at 3, so you might have better luck during more traditional hours. Overall, the pricing just left a bad taste.
