Honestly I don’t know why this place has 5 stars. The service was weird, the guy was clueless and kept bringing the wrong drinks. Wasn’t very knowledgeable.
The place is expensive lowkey. My boyfriend said the sushi is great the roll he got. His dad said it was okay. I got chicken parmesan. The angel hair noodles were hard and the red sauce was weird tasting, the chicken?!? It literally was the worst parm chicken I’ve ever had. It was soggy and it seemed like They boiled chicken breast and put it in breading and then baked it without frying the breading, idk man but either way it was the worst one I have ever had and if I went anywhere that had chicken parm and that’s my go to dish. I work at BJS brewery and the $10 lunch special chicken parm is a hundred times better. And then I sent this dish back and I wanted to play it safe so I got a grilled chicken Caesar salad and it was the most plain tasting watery chicken ever. Not even salt and pepper. There was like no salad dressing. Huge salad tho. Good size. But horrible creation they made both times. And the worst part we went around 12:30ish maybe one and we was the second table in this place. The other table already had their food. And not only that right in the wall infront was a huge snakeskin going across the wall and that’s disgusting bro. Like I never felt like such a Karen in a google review but the best thing at this place was my bfs sushi and the tiramisu birthday cake which i don’t know was included in the bill or not because I didn’t pay. But the bill was $149 and I don’t think anyone was happy with the food we got.
Maybe the cook was new ? I have no idea HOW they got 4 & a half stars if reviews. I don’t recommend this place to anyone, unless you like water down food, even the kimchi sauce was watered down, I can get better salad at Wendy’s & I can make a better chicken parm in a easy bake...
Read moreWent here for the first time last night with good friends and.. I have to tell you right now you MUST try this place! Everything was absolutely AMAZING! I’ll start with mine. I ordered the Oysters Rockefeller and Wahoo Ceviche as an appetizer. Ceviche was incredibly fresh and the oysters melted in my mouth! My friends ordered the fried calamari as their app and was flakey and so tender. My fiancé ordered the Snapper Frances’s with penne as her meal and it was the best francese dish I’ve ever tried. I ordered the Johnny Sushi Roll as my meal and.. OMG it was amazing. The sushi was so soft and fresh and delicious. My friends ordered the ribeye steak which was huge and cooked to perfection. My other friend had the Lobster Ravioli which was also banging good. The owner also sent over a free crab cake appetizer which was super cool. Those were super yummy! It’s a small place but awesome atmosphere and amazing service. All the food is cooked with finesse and is bursting with tons of flavor! Can’t wait to go back! Definitely a hidden gem. Thank you guys see you next weekend!
UPDATE Went for the second time last night and.. OMG was absolutely outstanding!! If you haven’t tried this place you don’t know what your missing! It is hands down the best restaurant in south Florida. Period! The clams casino and the Oysters were unbelievable! And they had these Top Neck clams on the special they literally tasted like Lobster! So delicious. And my sushi was incredible! Chef Dee sent us a free shrimp pattie appetizer which was so tasty! He really cares about his customers and goes above and beyond to make sure they are happy! I wish I could give more then 5...
Read moreI'm really confused by the high ratings so I imagine my experience was unique to my visit. I've heard of Chef Dee's for some years and has been a place I've wanted to try. I was craving sushi so hubby and I checked it out Saturday night around 8:00. The place was bustling. It looks like they recently took over the north bay because the decor and construction was unbalanced from the unfinished floors to the stark walls. They don't have a hostess but we wanted to sit at the bar so we seated ourselves. The bar had white napkins as placemats but the "white linen" seemed out of place. Maybe that was the vibe carried over from the smaller location. What also added to my impression was the night we went they had a crew of loud drinkers sitting at the sushi bar who had no care that they were in a restaurant where other diners are paying good money for a night out without being around intoxicated people. One guest in particular was so loud and visited guests at our bar and then proceeded to try and involve me in unpleasant banter, which I ignored. Then there was the issue with no urgency to clear the areas at the bar where guests once dined. Overall I felt the ambience was unsettling and chaotic.
The two positives were the pleasant staff and the sushi was amazing! Fresh fish and good portions. Hubby had the chicken parm and was content with his choice.
Maybe I'll be back. Maybe I'll go earlier to avoid all-day drinking patrons. And based on the highly rated reviews, the locals love this...
