It's a wonderful sports bar and a real fort Lauderdale neo-classic - it's not the elbo room but it's 90's era for sure and has that 90s sports bar chic. The service is fun and friendly but don't go in expecting a fine-dining experience, just great banter, fun conversations, and awesome characters.
The food is, overall, good, but the wings.... The wings are why you go to Bru's room. These are (I know, arguably) some of the best wings you're going to get in fort Lauderdale. They may not have invented grilled wings but they were doing it back before it was cool, and they've got it dialed in. The sauces are delicious and creative, I recommend the garlic Parmesan, and their buffalo-style is tangy, though it might stand to be a little richer/thicker. That's a matter of taste though, and the flavor is definitely there. Quick note: to get em grilled you have to ask for them to be grilled; that's not the "standard" way they do them (although IMHO I think it should be - kind of how Anthony's specializes in making their pizza well done.) it's just a really tasty and unique eat to experience wings.
All of their menu items are decent-to-good; it's sports bar fare for the most part, but the wings are 100% a reason to put this restaurant on your short list.
For the sports fans: there are a ton of TVs in the bar area, each one carefully curated to show different sports for everybody. During big sporting events it's more focused of course, and I believe (though I might be wrong?) they're a big Ohio State bar. Definitely big on the dolphins (and God bless em for it). It's not a super modern sports bar layout but it's got lots of charm, lots of charming bartenders, and plenty of drinks.
I recommend this place for its wings, and, to a certain extent, its atmosphere, which is a little retro funky but totally South Florida. Don't let the yellowing sign out front turn you off (the Florida sun is brutal and destroys everything), you will enjoy it.
