Decided to try this place hoping to become regulars as we just moved in a couple minutes away. The one star is for the decent food and atmosphere. Standard food you’d expect at a sports bar but nothing that stood out. However, we were shocked by the 18% AUTOMATIC GRATUITY we were charged for a party of 4 (especially after the poor attitude and service we received), and never notified of until it was already charged. Apparently this is their “policy after 9pm” - I’ve been a server myself and understand wait staff needing to make something for their effort - maybe a 10-15% minimum, but 18% assumes good/great service which this absolutely was NOT. What’s the motivation to provide good service if the server already knows they’re guaranteed a good tip? Case in point: we asked for a knife to cut a sandwich so we could share (among other things we’d ordered), and when I saw the server talking at the bar and counting money as we waited and our food got cold, I walked to the bar to take it myself. Before I could open my mouth, I was met with a very bratty “I’m BRINGING it” and an eye-roll before finally handing it to me (instead of a simple “sorry about that, here you go” and a smile, which would have been fine). Later when I questioned the auto-gratuity and asked for a supervisor, pointing out that we waited as our food got cold and now I understood why she was happy to take her time, the server proceeded to argue with me to the point of raising her voice and continuing even after I said asked her to leave me alone and not speak to me anymore, and she had to be pulled away by a co-worker. I was trying to have a nice dinner with my husband and MIL visiting for thanksgiving weekend, and this server is acting like she’s ready for a bar fight after already getting our money that she didn’t earn! Then I was told they could adjust the tip but it would take 3-5 days to process and involved double-charging our card, it was so convoluted we ended up just signing off and leaving. The whole “policy” is unheard of anywhere else, and if their wait staff all have such poor attitudes and think it’s okay to berate/harass customers, I can see why they’d have to guarantee their tips - it’s the only way could they ever get 18%. Really wanted to like this place but it’s a joke. Also a weird thing (thought not as important) - their silverware and plastic plates are weirdly low-quality for what they charge. Almost like institutional, government-issue like what you’d see in a hospital or jail. Just a weird thing at a sit-down restaurant where menu items...
Read moreMy family eats here about once or twice a week. We always have a nice waitress and our food is always good which is why we keep coming back. But tonight we had a very bad experience and certainly want to share it with someone who may care. We ordered 2 appetizers (potato skins and 16 wings) and 4 entreees. The potato skins were very overdone and crunchy like a potato chip. We asked for a couple new ones as 2 were brick like. Also our 16 wings were ordered grilled and medium. They came with zero sauce..just grilled. Our waitress, Amber, was great even though she was super stressed with a huge birthday table of about 30 she was also trying to deal with. She fixed the apps best she could but our dinners came out before that happened. 3 of our meals were fine but mine which was a Steak and Blu salad came with balsalmic dressing on it when I ordered it with blue cheese dressing. It was taken back and I watched my family eat and try to wait for my food so their food now got cold. Finally my salad came again and it had blue cheese dressing but the steak was cooked rare....like mooing....like it was seared for a moment and sliced. I ordered it medium. SO since I have already waited this long I wanted my food like I ordered because I was hungry and because I really wanted my food like I ordered it. I asked for the manager this time and Amber sent him over. His name is Walt. Immediately I got the sense I was bothering him as he came over very begrudgingly. He did not greet us or even ask what was wrong. So I explained briefly about already getting my salad wrong and now the steak being cooked rare. He said it looked medium rare to him, picked up the plate and took it away. Never said he was sorry or apologized for ruining my dinner as by now my family was completely finished with theirs. When my dinner finally returned Walt put it down in front of me, said "medium" and walked away. Yes it was now finally medium, the portion somehow got smaller, and the salad was so covered in blue cheese by now that I left most of it on the plate. It was extremely disappointing to have our dinner ruined and yet still not only pay for all of it but to be treated so insultingly and rudely by a manager! Our waitress Amber was left a good tip as it was not her fault but for the manager you have in your restaurant, he certainly needs a lesson in people skills and ofcourse just being kind to the people in his restaurant. I am unsure if we...
Read moreI don't know if it was just a bad time for them or what we came in and it seems that everyone else had already been there for a while (had their food and drinks) so we sat down and the lady who came to greet us was sweet she asked about what kind of drinks we wanted and we ordered them. She came back in a decent time and gave us our drinks. All of them tasted terrible, so I asked for a different kind of drink. The same result it was not her fault, so I moved on. We ordered our appetizers, no problem. They came our we ate them fries were a little burnt but I'm not the type that's gonna complain about that. Here's where the problems start. We order our entrees. My fiance orders a margarita. It took so long to get them that we had finished our appetizers (2 adults and 3 kids worth), which was fine with me, but then they brought the burgers I asked well done no onions. The bread was hard, and it had onions. Now, normally, I would just pick them off, but they bake them into the cheese, so you can't remove them without taking all the cheese off. My daughter got wings that were so tough. It was like chewing on shoe leather. We were sitting literally right in front of the doors to the kitchen, so I was waiting for someone to come out. After been passed by 4 or 5 people who walked by then stood about a table or so away from us as they just started talking, I admittedly got a little frustrated so as I'm talking with my fiance as she just about finished her margarita. I look in her cup and see that something looks outta place.. big ol dead fly under the ice of her margarita. By this point, I'm mad a group of three people are all still standing there as I begin to speak loud enough for them to hear me. Finally, someone comes out of the back and says, "Is everything OK, sir?" To which I reply still very calmly."My burgers aren't right, and there's a fly in her margarita. " He said,"Oh no! I'll be right back. " he goes to the group and informs her she looks back at us and walks off. Didn't see her again for another 10 minutes. She brings us another one and says, "Sorry bout that," and turns around without adressing the burgers. It takes me another 10 minutes to get her back, so I say, "Just take the burgers back. I don't want them anymore. Can I please have the check?" It was a......
