Chez Café — Restaurant in Pompano Beach

We've been here several times since my first review and always liked the food. Today, I ordered the chicken noodle soup. I thought I had ordered it from here before and liked it, but either I had not or they have changed the way they make it. Hate to write this but it was by far the worst chicken noodle soup I've ever had. The broth was greasy and tasteless, don't think there was any kind of seasoning in it other than some kind of tiny chopped dark green stuff, parsley maybe. No salt or pepper by the taste. The chicken was dry, stringy and tasteless. The vegetables looked like they were scraps leftover from other things. No uniformity in cuts whatsoever. Got tiny little pieces up to 1.5 x 1 inch pieces. In fact, some of the onion pieces looked like the outside peel pieces that most discard. And, they used elbow macaroni for the noodles. First time I've ever seen that. I know they can be considered noodles, but just seem odd in chicken noodle soup. I got the large thinking I would have half for lunch tomorrow but nope couldn't even get through a third of it, headed for the bin.

Chez Cafe is a Top Find. I was looking for something unique and original with a local vibe. I love it here. First DOG FRIENDLY. That is great, and our Kiwi really loved the attention from the people working there as well as other guests. There are places to sit outside in the front and back. There is a drive through, that is nice too. Inside, there are all kinds of seating, tables and chairs, sofa and high tops. The coffees are hand made, with love, no doubt. The food,,,, delicious and made and served with care and kindness. The people that it attracts seems to be local people who just live here. I see young hip people, families, couples and people who just want to chill. Easy to get to know strangers who is actually your neighbor. Young and Mature crowds. The service is excellent. They are busy, so come early (we did) and it was worth it for certain. Mariah, has helped me before and she was extremely welcoming and accommodating. Strong arms hand squeezing fresh juice.
