According to reviews, this place looked like a very good sushi restaurant to try for our party of six, but our experience was just pure frustration…The reception was rather cold upon entering the establishment. The vibe in here just felt sad, tired, and dreary. The menu was handed to us as a three ring binder that felt very awkward to flip through. Am I back in Graduate school? They were out of the Japanese spring rolls, and then ran out of chicken gyoza after we got one order to the table successfully. They were very good, but not enough for 6 people to share, so we were left very frustrated. In the middle of taking our order, the waitress stopped and sat another party and took their order before finishing ours, thus resulting in more frustration. At this point we were about to walk and go to Chaba Thai Kitchen, but the waitress returned to finish our order. We didn’t receive our shrimp tempura appetizer until the end of our meal (the kitchen forgot), and apparently, that other party that came in, and finished their meal before us, didn’t get everything they ordered as we heard the waitress apologizing to him. The food we ordered was okay, nothing remarkable or outstanding. We won’t return to this establishment when there are way better sushi restaurants in the area (i.e. Kaizen Sushi 🏆) that always have appetizers, gets them out on time, and staff who greets us with a warm welcome. Pompano Sushi is not for us and won’t be added to our dinner crew’s...

Owner/chef was very kind and managed to get our food out to us despite receiving a lot of orders while we were there.
Menu is your classic sushi take out offerings of loaded rolls and some nigiri. There was no salmon belly available. The tuna tataki my friend ordered was thick with jagged cuts on the fish. She enjoyed her JB roll and my Ultimate Spicy Tuna roll was ok. It wasn’t really spicy, I think the spicy mayo they topped it with added the bulk of any heat. I also tried the wasabi and it was very processed (it looked almost electric green) which is to be expected at the low prices they have.
For fans of ponzu sauce and spicy mayo, those are right on the table in squeeze bottles. The restaurant is no frills which is always fine, it has a small bar up front and a few tables in the back. They seem to mainly get their business through takeout.
I think it’s a good addition to the immediate area as I’m not aware of a ton of sushi right around there. But, I think there are much better places in the greater Broward area that put more attention into their fish, rice, and...
