Have no idea what kind of benchmark people uses when they describe their experience at Romano's; mine was terrifying.
Maybe it's because the Romano's I just went to is in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Although it shouldn't matter, since all frinchisees should follow the same rules.
In any event, I hate that they pour olive oil in a plate, sprincle it with pepper and make you think that it's the latest trend in the food industry. For what you pay, they should serve some kind of marinara sauce with the bread. Most people don't eat olive oil and pepper at their homes. When you pay for service, you expect a nice experience; not olive oil in a plate.
Then they offer unlimited soup and salad, but they don't tell you that the salad is limited to the house salad and cesar salad.
The story is similar in the case of the soups, you can only choose between onion, lentil and some other kind of undeserving soup.
Looking at my experience it would have been easier to buy a can of spaghetti a can of soup, a can of salad, would have had a better experience and save a LOT OF MONEY.
Thankfully I didn't stay. All the poor choices combined with the poor attitude of the waitress, push me out of the place before I had the...

Read moreNot usually one to write reviews, but this one I have to get off my chest. Service was slow on a Monday. No bread on the table until almost the entree arrived. The chef messed up cooking steak 3 times. First time it was overcooked, second time it was raw, and as for the third time when I mentioned to the waiter that the steak was still raw the chef apparently was done with trying to cook the meal properly and reheated the plate on a microwave in order to bring the temperature on the steak up, making the steak inedible. I don't recommend this place anymore. They used to be good and now its like they barely care anymore. There are better places for Italian food in the area. I get that these are chain restaurants, but they just don't care about service, food or atmosphere as much as they used to. Hopefully anyone who reads this will have a...
