5 Star China Buffet — Restaurant in Poplar Bluff

We visited the restaurant on Saturday evening; there were three in our dinner party. We ordered two waters and a Sprite along with buffets. While we were all at the buffet line getting our plates, the server delivered our drinks: two waters and an iced tea.

I scooted the tea to the edge of the table in the hopes of getting our server's attention in the matter. The other two shared one water and finished their plates, returning to the food bar and I excused myself to the restroom after eating only a small amount from my plate.

When I returned to the table, I found the server had taken my food away and already brought the check ...and the tea was still balanced near the edge of the table. We just decided it was hopeless to get the server's attention in the matter of this wrong drink, and would tell the cashier when we checked out.

When I told the cashier that one drink needed to be removed (She obviously did not have a good grasp of the English language), she left us standing there while she went to speak to the server who was already busing our table. The server must have told the hostess that she had brought us a refill of iced tea as well as the Sprite and water.

I asked the lady if she would check the two waters on the table because they were in fact only water... no Sprite and no refill had ever been brought to us. No one in our dinner party drinks tea so it had sat there untouched throughout the meal. They refused to take the tea off of our bill even though they knew the server's response did not match the items on our table.

We have eaten here several times and I will absolutely not return. I do not appreciate being penalized because an incompetent server cannot get three drinks correct. After all, it was a buffet line and all she had to do was deliver our beverages. How difficult can that be? Also, not once was I asked, "how was your meal?" "Is everything okay?" or "Will there be anything else?"

So to start off I've been going here since I was a kid (now being in my 30s with kids) and today was confusing and more of a blameshifting time. We arrived at 3:20pm on Saturday which as you see from the pictures is lunch time. We ate some and I proceeded to get a smaller second plate including these yellow sea shells with crab and cheese on them. Sat down and smelled something was really off. Almost a spoiled smell. I lifted the shell up and instantly smelled a horrid spoiled dairy smell. I confronted them about it respectfully with constantly saying "I don't wanna make a scene." or saying "I don't wanna say this to loud.". They said ok after explaining them what was wrong. Two more waitresses came up and I said the same thing to them. They didn't take my plate from me nor smelled the item that was spoiled. I sat down with this plate smelling awful, but it was ok because I was rudely asked if I needed water, and rudely asked if I was done with my plate after 5 min. Also they didn't take the buffet plate full of those shells with crab until we left so no telling how many people got them. We got our check and noticed that one buffet said 11.99 and the other said 13.99 with a 12.99 under it scratched out. The 3.99 was my kiddos plate and we all got waters as well. At first she said "oh the cheese is what smelled bad, it was cosco fault. Bad cheese or new cheese.". I told them what's the difference with the prices and they said "Because you got seafood, seafood was a dinner item, we charged extra. I know we don't have posted but I'll go ahead and make it 11.99 for you.". So you're tell me after spoiled cheese that could make people sick you're gonna charge me extra? Even tho I came in at lunch time? This is crazy. I'm happy they fixed the price and maybe fixed the cheese thing but I don't think they will learn. I would give zero stars if I could but unfortunately I have to give atleast one star to leave a review. This has got to be the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. I came down to visit my parents and we decided to order Chinese food to the tune of a 111.00 dollars and some change only to get home with nasty overcooked food. The sweet and sour chicken should have been a golden/yellowish color like the grab ragoons not dark brown like half burnt toast and the chicken inside was tough like beef Jerry. Clearly overcooked . My happy family had zero taste and not exaggerating the imitation grab meat was like chewing on a rubber bouncy ball pork and chicken in this dish was also severely overcooked I did not eat any of it (my dog would not even touch it no joke) so it went into the trash when I called to say hey what happened? Just spent 111.00 dollars and some change and the food is garbage i was told well we have never had a complaint oon the sweet and sour chicken in two years ?
