Service is friendly, food is often served in a decent amount of time, and serving portions are usually large to normal. My issues are that the seasonings on the rice is nearly non-existent, same with the vegitables, which come off more soggy than grilled, and nearly tasteless. This time I ordered a half-chicken plate and got a thin breast fillet that was not hot, none of it was, and this was 1pm, worse, it tasted like chicken, boiled, then set in water before serving, wet and spongey, almost no seasoning. I was prepared to ignore this dingey meal and just let it go, but then i tried the salsa last, because i like eating last, i don't like filling up on chips. The salsa was watery, and almost tasted like water and a little cilantro, even though it was red, but it was way too hot, pepper-wise, so hot that it seemed like it was mostly jalapeno. It was pretty hot last time, in March, and off and on in the past. Now, this October, it is inedible, and ruined my meal completely. You would that people who make such a hot salsa would use more seasoning in the other entres. Nope. My rice had a dishwater twang to it that i've experienced at other places, and it isn't until you find a half-way decent Mexican diner that you realize just how bad it is. This place is clean as a whistle and usually friendly, which is why i can't give it just one star. The prices are high to average, but even at low prices, the food is not worth it. Four to five years ago, the food was seasoned and the salsa edible, now, neither is true. Because the prices are for a higher quality food, i recommend you spend your money at a better,...

Update:
This was our favorite restaurant prior to the shutdown and we couldn't wait to come back.
Well, tonight was our 32nd anniversary and we could NOT have been more disappointed.
Our chips were warm but they were also a mix of thin chips and thick chips. The thick chips were extremely overcooked and a much darker brown.
The salsa was not at all the salsa we used to love. The white cheese dip was runny and had few, if any, green chili's in it. No flavor at all.
We ordered the Nachos Margaritas and the taco beef tasted awful. Not sure what it was actually. The chicken seemed OK but the refried beans were runny. It was simply a sloppy mess.
We also had the Fajita Quesadilla. It used to be my husband's favorite but it was just meh, with no seasoning, and it was barely warm. We had to add salt to everything just for a little flavor.
I had a margarita which used to be the best anywhere and it was just a run of the mill margarita that I could have made at home with a mix.
It's so sad to see such a great place plummet after the shutdown. We hope when things get better, Las Magaritas will be able to reboot.
Original review that I stood by for a couple years **
Best Mexican restaurant in Butler or Madison county, Missouri!!! We've tried them all and hands down this is the only place we'll come to from now on. Excellent food, fantastic service and the best margarita I've...
Read moreI order from them every once in a while using the cargo app and today the app said the store was closed so I called in to place my order. I always get the Carna Asadas when I order on the cargo app and tried to order the same thing over the phone. Came in to get my order, took it home and it was not what usually order. Called the restaurant to see if I could my order corrected and the hostess/server I was speaking to hands the phone over to the manager. I explained that I always order the Carnas Asadas using the cargo app and what I received isn't what I usually order. He told me there were two different versions of the same dish. I said "ok well can we get the correct order then?" And he says "that's not really on us since you ordered the wrong thing, it's not our fault". Really?...I beg to differ. It is literally in your job description to ensure the customer is getting the correct dish, especially when you know the dish comes in two different versions. It's like asking "chicken or beef"? And to place blame on me instead of offering to fix the situation speaks volumes. I gave their food back to them and got my refund. The manager kept trying to save face but should have just took it as a learning opportunity. Your customers don't know your menu, YOU do. Clarify and confirm with them that they're getting the right thing and save yourself the trouble of needing to issue a refund or correct the...
