Port Allen Bakery — Restaurant in Port Allen

The young lady that assisted me was not wearing gloves and her bare fingers touched the doughnuts as she picked them up to place them in the box. Each time that happened, I had her replace the pastry. She was using paper to pick up the pastry but for some reason her finger and nails kept coming in contact with the pastry. She had icing all over her fingers from coming in contact with the pastry. She was nice but still, that was not good. I would have told her forget it and left but I told my family I was going to pickup doughnuts from this particular place. I will not return back their again. I don't know why they can't just wear gloves or use a tong to pick up the doughnuts/pastries. By the way, they didn't even like the doughnuts especially the cinnamon rolls. Kolache’s are better than average. Cannot go wrong with the donuts. I drove up into the parking lot at 4:15am and there were two men hanging out front which is no big deal. One of them was an employee that placed my order. Rude customer service from the man with his pants hanging down, showing off his underwear. Feel like I was walking on eggshells with the guy. Treated me like as if I was waisting his time. The other guy outside started smoking weed while I was ordering my food. The guy doing the cooking was very receptive towards me and polite. The food was really good and the staff was nice. The young lady waiting on customers ended up in a very loud, heated argument with a guy that walked up to the window using very vulgar language. The employee engaged herself in a screaming and cursing match with him, neither of them having any regard or respect for the customers that were forced to endure the confrontation. I always have, and will continue to stop at the RIVER QUEEN when I'm in Port Allen but from now on I'll always be on edge about the possibility of having to witness something like this again.
