River Queen Drive Inn — Restaurant in Port Allen

Usually the food is satisfactory across the board, however, yesterday was OFF!! I the fish dinner, fish fried extra crispy, and the side salad on the side with ranch dressing. When my name was called to pick up the plate from the window, I noticed that there wasn’t a separate container for the salad as I requested. When I asked about the salad on the side, I was told that the salad IS on the side of the plate. I explained that I wanted the salad in a separate container because I didn’t want the heat to wilt the lettuce when reheating, as it wouldn’t be eaten in one sitting. Once I made it home and started eating, I noticed that the fries were burnt and the fish was soft, obviously there was a mix up in which foods I wanted crispy. Then while eating the salad, I chewed something that was not salad! I immediately spit it out. After searching through the mess, I discovered an object that I would describe as a “bread twist tie”. By this time the restaurant had closed so I called first thing this morning. Clearly there are 2 different shifts and no one on the day shift would take the complaint and I was instructed to call back when the evening shift comes...

The only thing that I want to say is how does ANYONE think that they can work at a fast food resturant or any resturant and play with their hair out it in a pony tail and think that you can serve ME...OR THE PUBLIC for that matter.....I went to get my spouse a chocolate malt...it was a Caucasian gentle working behind the counter....he was sweating very hard and playing with his hair to place in a ponytail....he obviously does care about MY HEALTH..OR ANYONE ELSE...because he continued to fix the malt....NEVER WASHING IR SANITIZING HIS HANDS.....I'm thinking to myself all while watching REALLY AND WOW.......I took the malt and threw it into the garbage container........I will not be returning.....in wondering is that the normal at this establishment???????I will not be returning......I felt like...

This reminded me and my Aunt and I pulling up in her El Camino back in the early 80's to some of the best burgers ever. You can dine in or order at outside window and wait just a short amount. Bf and I got the Ida Burger Meal and that was 20 oz of burger goodness! Fries were perfect and only catch-up was they had no ice the machine was broke which actually meant we got more fluid.. wasnt an issue. One of the best burgers I have had in a long minute! And the combo was only $10.50. that's like steal! And really good food. Sat outside and enjoyed the breeze thru the way and went back 2 days later for more! It's a must try! Ohhhh...
