Domino's Port Clinton was the about the only place open after 9:30, besides McDonalds in lake front tourist town to place an order for my family after a unexpectedly late holiday day. Never having this chain brand of pizza, I was a bit skeptical that it would be skimpy like other chain food pizzas in PC (we love toppings, crusts are only vehicles for the good stuff ;) I've tried when at my get away, so I shy off of chain places. The online ordering was simple, many choices of coupons were really surprising.
What impressed me was this place was sl-am-med after 7/3/22 fireworks with orders to go when I walked in for pick up a few minutes early according to internet order pickup time. I didn't think the tracking was working because it confirmed my order when placed and then I didn't hear anything back on phone or website. Thomas greeted me with a smile, polite hello and when I gave my name, professionally told me my order was running a behind from what the online promised. The other female staff member was courteous and smiling and apologized the time frame was not met as well. I had zero issues with the delay, I could see they were busy & knew from searching online to find a kitchen open after 9:00. Their friendly, smiling customer care was sincere; a HARD thing to find some days since COVID in Port Clinton either chain or local sit down places. I had called 3 other places prior to Domino's as their hours were not listed for their kitchens, 2 of them were crabby when asked their hours, one never answered yet online noted as open for 2 more hours.
I had to peek in the boxes when we left, thinking well customer care was great, food will be meh... The bonus was, the pizzas were excellent, had a nice amount of toppings and the extra items were actually on the pizza and not just an up charge leaving me wondering where the extras were 😊 . The wings were surprisingly, some of the best saucy wings we have ever had. I ordered pasta mainly as "filler" because its cheap and feeds a group, the pasta was typical for chain food - not really saucy or loaded, more or less good for pickier eaters & filling for late night. The only thing missing was I could not order a salad online or I would have skipped the pasta.
This franchise is only my list to order from again when in Port Clinton at my seasonal campsite. I'd like to try delivery sometime when we get back earlier and am hoping they deliver to my Port Clinton campground 6.5 miles away. Kudos to this franchise management for training their employees quality customer care and making...
Read moreI wanted to buy lunch for my business neighbors today so at 10:45 am I ordered 3 pizzas from Dominos online for an 11:45 am delivery. Shortly after placing the order, I received a call from the manager saying his only delivery driver had just left for Fremont (a mere 15 minutes away) to pick up supplies. He said they couldn't guarantee delivery at that time (11:45 AM). I said what about 12 Noon? He said he could try to get it there at 1 PM and if would be sooner, he'd let me know. Apparently, he doesn't understand the concept of lunch at 12 noon. Anyway, I was shocked to say the least. I questioned how a Dominos in a small, tourist town could afford to forgo a $65 dollar order on a snowy April Monday? I said I was trying to support a small business, to which the guy replied, "We're Dominos, we're not a small business." We'll, no kidding. I could tell this wasn't a small business from the horrible customer service. He quickly cancelled my order and hung up the phone, and I quickly called Marcos Pizza, got a very nice lady who sold me more pizzas for less cost than Dominos and guaranteed my neighbors would have them by their 12 noon lunch hour. So if you want a better pizza, at a lower cost, without the side of attitude, may I suggest visiting the Port Clinton Marcos, and leave the virtue signalling, EV driving Dominos to wither on the...
Read moreA HUGE thank you to Christian at Domino’s for providing exceptional customer service and support on such short notice! He truly saved the day!! We signed up to provide the band team feed for this past Friday’s game and originally had placed the order with our local Marco’s. Marco’s requires a 24hr advance notice of large orders and so I personally stopped in on Wednesday (48hr advance notice) and placed the order with their night shift manager. When I called on Friday (over my lunchtime) to confirm details, I was told they needed to cancel my order because the Boosters also placed an order for the same time and they now could not fulfill our order. I’m not sure when they had planned to call to let us know that they could no longer fulfill the order that was placed, but it gave us literally hours to make other arrangements to feed 210 kids. And had I not called, I’m not sure when we would have actually been notified. I reached out to our local Domino’s around 1pm on Friday, explained our situation to Christian…his immediate response was “We would love to do this”! AND they did it for $120 less!!!
Thank you to Christian!!! Please consider supporting our local Domino’s! The kids really appreciated having something to eat...
