Where to begin, we chose this restaurant because it was right by the water. We walked in and they weren't super busy. We ordered our appetizers after about 10 minutes because our group of 5 wasn't ready to order our entree's just yet. About 5 minutes after ordering our app's we ordered our entree's. 20 minutes after that our app's arrive. When she brought them out she sat them on the table and walked away. She gave us no plates or any way of eating and sharing. How do you expect a group of 5 people to split 3 app's with out plates 🙄. My daughter had to go to the register and ask for dishes. Unfortunately we were sitting right by the register and pick up window for the kitchen, so we were witness to everything. There were three servers and a manager that was also serving. She (the manager) was always moving. One other girl I only saw once, and the other two including our server were chatting and giggling. There was some dispute with the kitchen staff, and zero teamwork amongst staff at all. For example the kitchen would put food in the window and 60%of the time wouldn't even announce it was up. The longest we watched a meal sit was 30minutes 🤦. At one point the window was full of orders. The really sad part is a server would come up and look at the tickets see nothing was for one of their tables and then lean and wait 😳. I mean at least go tell your team that there's orders in the window. Anyway we sat after getting our app's for another 30 minutes. Our waitress never checked on us or even let us know there was a delay. We saw two other customers complain they had also been waiting 20+ minutes for their food. My husband asked how much longer before our food was ready and they only had two meals out of five ready after 30 minutes.. Both of which had been sitting In the window for over 20 minutes. We paid for our app's and left. We ended up going to another big boys 45minutes away. Their service was beyond fantastic. They got our food to us within 20 minutes and was very polite. If you are short staffed and feeling rushed COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR TABLES. A simple I'm sorry things are taking a bit but I'll go check on your food would have done wonders. The service and communication at the Port Clinton Big Boys is atrocious. The minimal food we actually managed to receive in our hour was also sub par. Honestly save your energy and get gas station food because the service and taste is beyond amazing compared...
Read moreExtremely dissatisfied and disappointed in this location. I just took my out of state family there for dinner and literally 3 out of 4 entrees were served incorrectly. I spoke mannerly with our server in regards to the multiple missing items and asked to speak with their manager on duty. I was told that he was helping in the kitchen but would be out in a moment. The entire restaurant had only 5 tables with customers including our table. We ate what food we did receive and waited for the manager BRETT to address our issues with the entrées. He came out walked to salad bar n literally IGNORED us ( we were seated right across from the salad bar.) And went into back of restaurant. We had waited at least 15-20 min for BRETT to come speak with us but even as we were waiting at the counter to pay our bill HE CONTINUED to ignore the issues. So no resolution to the problem at all. Once we received the check it too was incorrect and we were charged for an entree that we didn't order nor receive. Of course we addressed that issue and the item was removed from the bill. The experience at this location was ridiculous and completely unprofessional. I most definitely will be contacting their corporate headquarters to address the situation. I do recommend this...
Read moreMy husband had the breakfast buffet: awful! Things that were to be hot ( biscuits) were cold and tasteless. The link sausage was still pink in the center, and the coffee was so strong I am surprised it didn't get up on its own strength and walk out! Our waitress was pleasant and reported all of the complaints to the manager, so we had no problem or complaint about her. Before we paid our bill, another customer was heard complaining about the coffee. We live in Sandusky and drove to Port Clinton for breakfast at Big Boy's so we could eat and enjoy the water. When my husband paid our bill, he again repeated our complaints, but gave every excuse in the book: corporate decided on this special breakfast blend of coffee "nothing I can do about it", raw sausage links " I have checked the temperature many times this morning and they were 130 degrees"... maybe the pan was 130 degrees, but the meat wasn't! He had a reason for everything and didn't seem to care one way or another if we EVER came back to eat there! No apologies, no small discount ( could have at least not charged for that awful coffee!), NOTHING! So, Frisch's Big Boy in Port Clinton, Ohio, if this is the caliber of management you employ and how you value your customers, then I guess this...
