I have gotten coffee here for a few days in a row and it was a pretty good experience before today. I ordered 2 coffee and a muffin with my friend and it was pretty good until the end of our stay, before we left my friend ordered a drink that her mom requested and the lady was saying how it wasn’t on the menu with a attitude but she could still make it. When the lady thought my friend wasn’t listening she started complaining to her coworker about how that the drink isn’t even on the menu, and it gets worse. When we got the drink there was a hole in it which i don’t think was the lady’s fault so we requested it got put in a different cup and she did that however when my friend was cleaning up the mess the drink made and kept apologizing to the worker because she felt bad and she even gave her a good tip, I was trying to cheer her up saying it was not her fault, the worker heard me and twisted my words to her coworker saying “that that girl is saying it’s all my fault that the cup has a hole in it” which I NEVER said. She said all these things when we were close enough to hear them, we are paying customers and she was talking negatively right in front of us thinking that it would just be fine and that it was normal. She had an attitude and a stank face the whole time, i get having bad days but you can’t take it out on paying customers. The manager said this isn’t the first time this has happened. So my question is why is she still working here if she repeatedly has had a problem with the way she talks to and about customers right in front of them? Other than her, all the other workers and service...

I am big on coffee and have been for years and I like to try it from different places and to support local shops. This was my first time here with my friend and sadly, we weren't that impressed.

It took us a minute to even find the place because there wasn't a sign anywhere of their logo or name. We had to match their address to Google maps.

We ordered the maple bourbon coffee, iced with half and half and we didn't taste any maple bourbon flavor and it's like there was no sugar or flavor added. It was hard to drink. It honestly tasted like water downed coffee milk.

You walked in and it smelt like burnt grease. You didn't get that coffee smell or bakery smell of fresh goodies like more coffee places. I'm guessing there wasn't a vent a fan for when they were cooking but the grease kept lingering and now my hair and clothes smell bad from it. The grease smell was getting so bad we had to leave.

There wasn't any music playing so we felt like we had to whisper when talking to each other. Overall the idea is great and a lot of people might love their coffee but for us it was a no go.

We did order food for someone else to go and they said the food was great so that's a plus.

I like how they had items from local shops in our area and support our community. It's nice to see that. The staff was friendly and welcoming which is always awesome to have.

Thank you for the experience! If you haven't tried them, I'd go check them out at least and see if you can find your favorite drink....

I recently visited The Avenue hoping for a pleasant experience, but unfortunately, my visit was marred by unprofessional behavior from the manager on duty. While the staff appeared generally courteous, the manager’s tone and approach were unnecessarily harsh and dismissive when I asked a simple question about my order. Rather than offering assistance, they responded with clear irritation and made me feel unwelcome.

As someone who values respectful customer service, I was disappointed by the lack of basic courtesy. A calm explanation or even a polite clarification would have resolved the matter quickly. Instead, the interaction left a negative impression and made what should have been a routine visit uncomfortable.

I hope this feedback encourages management to reflect on how important professionalism and respect are in customer-facing roles. I would consider giving the shop another chance in the future, but only if I see improvements in how customer concerns...

📍The Avenue Coffee & Cafe 1226 Port Neches Ave, Port Neches, TX 77651 Check them out! Kristen greeted us friendly and welcoming! She had the best hair. And, she had the best energy. You can see her hugged up with the cafe's Spooky Bae (I had to get a pic with him too)! I ordered the Big Purp Latte (a double shot of Avenue Espresso flavored with Vanilla, Hazelnut, Ube, topped with Whipped Cream) and I ordered a B.R.AT. (Bacon, Ranch, Avocado, and turkey) sandwich. I got mine on garlic toast. PierrePages ordered The Upside Down! It is a lotus plant based energy drink flavored with blue raspberry, blackberry, blood orange. Y'ALL!! This drink was a damn vibe in a cup! I have never tasted a drink so refreshing and flavorful. And Adrian ordered an orange juice ##cousindate#coffeetiktok #thecoffeehouseblogger

Nestled in the heart of Port Neches, The Avenue Cafe is a delightful hidden gem that I've become quite attached to. I find myself here almost every day, seeking my daily dose of their exceptional espresso. Served at the perfect temperature with a smooth, rich flavor, it's a far cry from the burnt espressos commonly found elsewhere. Alongside this, their pastries like the Lavender Donut and the Blood Brownie have become favorites of mine. And while their espresso and pastries have swayed me, I've got my eye on their breakfast menu, hoping to dive into that on one of my future visits. If you're in town, a visit to this quaint cafe is a must. It's woven its way into my routine! Oh and they serve it in a cute tiny cup. 😁
