Charleys Cheesesteaks and Wings — Restaurant in Port Saint Lucie

Nice surprise. We will be back.

We stopped in for a quick dinner on a Thursday night. 3 Philly and one Chicken California something or another. All of the sandwiches were good. None of them are even in the neighborhood of an authentic cheese steak but they were all tasty. Onions and peppers were fresh and cooked correctly. Buns were nicely toasted. The steak was tender enough and well seasoned. Nothing super exceptional but again it was all pleasing. I ordered the "large" which when cut in half was basically two full sandwiches. I'm a big guy and rarely leave any food behind but one half came home with me for lunch tomorrow. Both my picky teenage daughters were happy with theirs as well.

Extra side items (I added Jalapeños to mine) are served by themselves on the open side of the bun so you can arrange things how you want. This was a nice touch as one of our cheesesteaks came with LTP which we didn't want. Since it was on the side it was nothing at all to just remove it and enjoy the food as requested.

We had one minor hiccup when ordering which resulted in one of the sandwiches being completely wrong. I pointed it out and they immediately fired a replacement without any fuss at all. I've always believed the true measure of service is how mistakes are handled and this was perfect. Good job guys.

The fries here are quite good. We only got plain but they are thicker cut from obvious whole potatoes. Fried perfectly and they had just enough salt on them. We will try one of the specialty versions next time. Really, good fries. Get some.

The only disappointment was the boneless wings. I'm not going to knock a star because they were completely free with a coupon they've been mass mailing but the chicken was not good at all. Had the consistency of a chicken nugget at best. I don't mind actual chicken nuggets personally but those are dirt cheap. These "boneless wings" would have been well over a dollar a piece if not for the freebie coupon. Again, free but I'd personally stick to the cheese steaks. Did I mention the fries too?

Drinks were a touch on the expensive side but they do provide a full selection of self serve sodas, teas (appear to be real brewed) and very good lemonade. Refills are free. Unlimited real lemonade and tea? Yeah, that works. My large drink was a gigantic cup too. Had to be 32oz. I got a half gallon of lemonade out of the deal. No complaints from me.

The restaurant is in a brand new strip plaza so everything still looks freshly built. I will say the place was spotless. There were plenty of clean tables to sit at. Our order was delivered quickly minus the fries which the server promised would be out shortly and they were delivered soon after fresh out of the fryer. It looked like they were doing a pretty solid take out business as well since orders were constantly being picked up from a to go rack. They do have their own app which I did not use but it seems like online ordering and pickup are well supported which is a must IMO in 2022. As friendly as the staff is ordering in person is error prone. Nobody to blame but myself when I'm doing the ordering and myself knows what I like pretty well most of the time.

I went to this place and bought 1 large Philly cheestake, one small chicken Philly combo and 10 wings. When I received my order the cashier offered another Philly cheesetake. I said sure. When I got home which is 5.mins away, I noticed the wings 2as not in the bag but an extra Philly. I called the store and notified them my wings are missing. I was told come back and get it. I only live 5 minutes so I did. To my surprise I walked in the restaurant and I think he said his name is Weston ask me where is the bag with the items. I said I left it at home why he said he wanted to check it. I said so are you saying I got the wings yes response was he made the wings and the cashier said she put them in the bag. So you are implying that I stole 10 wings and I need to bring back my bag of food for you to inspect. This is the most demeaning behavior I have encountered in this place. I will never go back here. I demanded my money back for the wings and told them to keep it. This is embarrassing and I will not spend my money here or any other...

Beyond disappointing!! This was my First time eating at this establishment and it will be the last.

I ordered a regular Cheesesteak with the works, drink, and fries which totaled $15, and change, my daughter ordered wings. I spent over $28 plus tip. 😶🫥

The food was okay, but it’s the fact that there was Blonde hair in my food!!!!! The hair was saturated under the cheese that was on top of my steak. Eww and I ate half of one sandwich and almost died when I noticed THE HAIR!

Therefore, I called the establishment and per the manager, I was expecting a FULL refund but I was only given the price of a small sandwich. The manager's word was not his bond. Not to mention he allowed one of the crew members to service me when I got there, which showed a lot about his coward behind.

I’m disgusted. Keep your coupons cause I will never eat here again!

In addition, the people that cook the food have long hair with no hair net. I pray they wash their hands before preparing food only god...
