We went to MISSION BBQ in Port St. Lucie, FL for dinner and it was absolutely fantastic!! Hands down the best BBQ on the Treasure Coast! The smoked chicken was perfectly seasoned and juicy, the brisket was tender with that amazing smoky bark, and the pulled pork sandwich was piled high with flavor. The sides were just as impressive: creamy mac & cheese, sweet cornbread, baked beans, potato salad, collard greens, and green beans that tasted homemade. Every bite was comfort food done right. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the quality is top-notch. What sets this place apart is not only the food but the atmosphere. The restaurant honors soldiers, veterans, and first responders, making it a patriotic and family-friendly place that feels special every time you visit. The staff is friendly, quick, and professional, making the entire dining experience smooth and enjoyable. If you’re in Port St. Lucie, Tradition, Jensen Beach, or anywhere in St. Lucie County, you need to try MISSION BBQ. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy authentic barbecue, hearty sides, and leave full and happy. This is now our go-to spot for BBQ in Port St. Lucie — highly recommended!

Wow! If you're looking for an authentic BBQ joint than this place is a must visit. My husband and I shared a three meat sampler to include some brisket, pulled pork and pulled chicken and ordered mac n cheese and potato salad for our sides. The staff mentioned that everything is cooked fresh and never microwaved. The food was delicious and there was a six sampler of bbq sauces available at every table which included an array of sweet, smoky and spicy flavors. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was friendly. I noticed there was a room available for private parties. This restaurant is located in St. Lucie West conveniently located near plenty of shopping centers. Not only does Mission BBQ provide delicious food and excellent service, but they have an awesome mission that supports our heroes! They have very strong patriotic views, love this country and support those who serve our country including the millitary, fire fighters, police officers and more. They also participate in charity events, fundraisers and give back to the community. We really enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend visiting this location for a delicious meal.

Friends had Mission cater their wedding. I loved it so much that I begged to go for a date night. The food is AMAZING!! The atmosphere is just as AMAZING. Hundreds if not a thousand pics of Veterans and First responders, patches from hundreds of first responders( paramedics, police and fire departments) from all over. On 9/11 they give a free sandwich, if I'm not mistaken, to all first responders, also on birthdays. They give back to veterans and other organizations. The owners son served from Feb 2011 to Sept 2011. They have two large pictures of aircraft carrier and a military chopper, I believe a Chinook. And below it, they give small information about them and their son. Coming from a military family, I appreciate and support small businesses that respect and support our military and first responders. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Their wet brisket is so great. Their mac and cheese was great too. All their meet is great. The coleslaw was not the style I normally eat but it was fresh for a 600pm dinner. Can't wait to go back. It's worth the 1 hr drive.

So walking in I was taken aback by the support of Military, first responders, law enforcement and firefighters. Love that. The music was pretty good too. I was greeted by a great cashier (I hope her name is Rebekah- sandy haired ponytail) she was extremely friendly and welcoming and when she saw I was a first timer she asked if I’d like an overview and I was extremely wowed by her service. She offered me some samples and made the entire experience great before I even got my food. I received my food and sat down.

So the food was hit or miss. The brisket was pretty good, the jalapeños sausage wasn’t quite the spice I was expecting and the turkey was a little on the dryer side- I sampled some pork and can say honestly that the pork was pretty dry despite the good flavor.

The sauces were decent as they seemed more runny but the flavor on the KC and the Memphis sauces as well as the Florida sauce was great.

The sides were meh. The baked beans and blueberry were spectacular! However the rest of the sides were bland and flavorless.

However I’m glad I was offered a chance to try the rest of the sides so I know what to pick next time.

The manager, Steph, was a sweetheart. She heard it was my first time and came out to greet me and offer me some samples of sides (which I tried). I will say the level of service here is top tier. I love the pro-hero feel to this establishment. I have a mission by my home in Kenosha, Wisconsin and never went in. I will say that if the service is the same I will go there. But I feel like it won’t be the same. Steph and Rebekah (please let that be her name. It was the name on the front of the register and I lost my receipt). They should be lauded as ambassadors of Mission as they were kind, friendly, efficient and made sure to check up on me multiple times. Anyways Rebels was the name on the register and I was in there at 1:30pm on Monday 2/5. While the food was ok, the level of service is matched by few. And there were some good items in there. I know for my next visit.

Rebekah was the name on the register- she had Sandy blondish hair (could have been reddish blonde?) and was outstanding. If she’s not a manager you may want to make that happen before someone else comes in and takes her.

Love that you guys have Yoo-hoo. And if I were a soda drinker I’d be very impressed with your bottled selection.

Overall...

The following is a copy of my email to Mission BBQ corporate headquarters.

Good morning or afternoon, depending on the time you read this email. Please allow me to take a moment of your time to share my experience at the Saint Lucie West Mission BBQ store with you. I’ve been coming to Mission at least once a week for the last 3 months, and usually have the lady or a couple of friends with me. Usually, my experiences there are very good; the staff is friendly, polite, and courteous, and I have grown to appreciate the service, the food, and the overall sense of enjoyment.

My most recent visit to Mission completely eclipsed my previous experiences. We had a work gathering coming up and I suggested Mission BBQ as the place; everyone in my department has heard me speak highly of the place in the past, and it was settled. When we arrived, we were greeted by the store manager, Nefali “Nefty” Torres. The gentleman not only made it an enjoyable, warm, and welcoming visit, but he was above and beyond just being courteous. He checked on our party several times, had the drinks refilled, sauces lined up and explained, kept the food coming, and the smiles going. The food was stellar as always, but the overall experience was elevated beyond any expectations anyone in our group could have ever had.

In short, because of Nefty our outing to Mission BBQ turned out to be a wonderful, team-bonding, memorable experience, and most of us live in the area and will certainly see Nefty again. And again, and again.

Thank you for bringing a wonderful, family and first responder-oriented place into our neighborhood as well as for staffing it with wonderful, caring, and professional...

Today was our first time at Mission BBQ in Port St. Lucie, Florida. As we walked up to the counter we realized we weren't sure how to order based on how the menu board is laid out. I asked the cashier (Kayla) to explain the process since it was our first visit. She immediately came from behind the counter, stood with us and pointed to the menu and explained in detail how your process works. She then asked if we would like samples of the side dishes. I said, that isn't necessary and she went back behind the counter to take our order. When my name was called. An employee was standing near us and asked if I wanted him to go get my order. I said, sure. When he arrived with our meals he had samples of the sides which was an unexpected surprise. I asked his name and Preston told us that he is a mgt. trainee. He then explained each one of the sides along with the different bbq sauce flavors. Preston was top notch. I owned restaurants for almost 30 years and I'm usually critical of today's restaurant hospitality and service. But not today! From the sweet iced tea, the fresh HOT French fries to the perfect description of the bbq sauces, we were impressed. We are building a home in the area and just happened to choose Mission BBQ as our place for a late lunch but, it is now our favorite restaurant in our new city. We have already mentioned it to some friends in Fort Pierce and they look forward to visiting this location. The attention to detail, hospitality and service is second to none. The " Have a nice afternoon" as we were leaving was the cherry on the top. Well...
