Just can't get eggs right. This is one of those places I REALLY want to like. For this reason and this reason alone, I have gone back more times than I normally would to give a chance. But alas, they cannot cook eggs. This is just so confusing. Also, although one of the waitresses was as horrified as I, i had two waitresses seem annoyed with ME for not eating the eggs as they were presented (raw).
I'll give the update on the last 3 times I went so you know this is not just a one time glitch. Maybe the chef had a bad night or something.
Ordered eggs over medium. I learned here that you cannot order eggs over easy as they will probably just crack an egg onto your plate and call it a day. Over medium means maybe they will try to cook it. Nope. Attempt #1 came back with a slight white film on the top of the egg but raw underneath. I mean a running pool of yolk raw. I asked the waitress to return, she rolled her eyes and went back. She came back with version #2. Same thing. Now, if it was me, and food came back, I would make SURE to get it right the second time. How embarrassing right? Nope. The waitress actually said, "well then why don't you order them well done" as if it was my fault I didn't want runny eggs. I took the plate with the runny eggs to the front and they comped the meal and I left.
Ordered poached eggs with a pancake. The pancake was amazing. Like, amazing beyond. The eggs, were raw. I showed the waitress the bowl of raw yolk and white stuff and she gagged and took it back. She came back with attempt #2, still raw. We sort of laughed but I said, why don't you try to ask them for eggs over medium? Guess what? Came back raw again. She felt so bad that she called the manager over this time and he comped me.
Tried one more time. Sat outside, the waitiress didn't show up for 18 min. I had to go in and ask for someone. At the time I got there it wasn't very busy but by now had gotten busy. I asked for water, it never came. This time the eggs were better but only by a margin. I ate one of them. Decided to not go back for fear of dying from salmonella.
I dunno ..seems all these other people have raving reviews so...
Read moreHave been here many times in the past since they opened in PSL. We decided to go today for a late breakfast. Food was really good as always however service was lacking on this occasion. We were seated in between 2 empty tables. Those tables were then seated and both parties ordered before us, received their food before us and one of them was nearly done by the time we got our food. I believe this is a training issue. It’s aggravating, as a guest, to be seated and then fall somehow later on the list of priorities behind others that are seated after them. Our server was friendly, however we just felt we were an after thought. At the end of the meal, we asked for 2 takeout containers, and inexplicably, this took quite some time. Finally one container was dropped off by a different server and the container lid had food debris in it. So when our server came back we told her we still needed another container and a clean lid. She acknowledged us and said ok I will get that. She then proceeded to go deliver food to other tables and visit with other tables as we just sat there neglected and wondering what is going on. At this point, my wife went up to where their containers are and someone gave them to her, and we were both able to package our food up to leave. Lastly, there is a way to pay your bill on your phone scanning the QR code featured on the bill, which is very convenient but as we left we were questioned by the woman at the front desk as to whether we paid and you have to show your screen on your phone showing your paid receipt. Her comment was “we’ve had a lot of walkouts so our company policy is we have to check you before you leave”. There should be some kind of interface that clears the bill on their system and shows that the bill was paid so that you’re not questioned leaving an establishment as to whether you paid your bill. All in all not a great experience at First Watch this time so we will give them a break...
Read moreI have always enjoyed First Watch. Today I ordered online for curbside under my husband's name, Christopher. The confirmation said it would be ready at 10:23 am. He was there promptly and I called the restaurant to let them know my husband is parked and told them the name for the order. He called as well to let them know he was there. 25 minutes later an employee came out to his truck and asked if he was waiting on an order. After receiving his information, she came back and said there is no order under that name, she asked if he ordered from the correct location. She said would go back and look again. They couldn't find an order for Christopher, and it sat there for an extremely long time, all because someone wrote the order name as "Christop". I'm unhappy because I spent 50 dollars for cold food. The bacon was drenched in syrup, which is suppose to be a drizzle. I couldn't eat it, it was so cold and overwhelmed with the syrup. My waffle came with no syrup so that's ironic. I just wish we had a better experience because we definitely love First Watch. We have dined in and had great service and food so we hold higher expectations for this company, so that's why I didn't put...
