Nestled on SE Port St. Lucie Boulevard, Susie Q’s Diner is the kind of place that feels like home from the moment you step inside. The moment you’re greeted by the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and sizzling bacon, you know you’re in for a treat. Open bright and early on weekdays and through mid-morning on weekends, Susie Q’s has built a well-earned reputation for serving generous portions of classic American breakfast and lunch fare with genuine warmth.
Start your day with their fluffy Belgian waffles, perfectly golden and ready to be drenched in pure maple syrup, or dig into biscuits and gravy so rich and savory they practically melt in your mouth. Their home-style hash browns and crispy home fries come generously seasoned and offer a comforting crunch alongside eggs cooked just how you like them. For lunch, the patty melt steals the show—tender beef piled high with sautéed onions on buttery rye and served alongside extra-crispy fries. The chicken and waffles entrée brings together savory fried chicken and a light, airy waffle in a delightful sweet-and-salty harmony.
What truly sets Susie Q’s apart is its staff. Servers remember your name, keep your coffee cup filled without prompting, and make sure every plate arrives hot. Read moreBad customer service. Their credit card machine was down on 04/08. My husband and I was told to go get cash by atm to pay. As we were standing to go do so..cashier told my husband we both could not leave or we needed to leave a personal belonging behind to guarantee we were coming back. To start with: it is not our fault your credit card machine was down. Second: we waited for almost an hour for you to fix your issue( isn't that a sign we did not wanted to go anywhere without paying ?). Third: you told us you can't trust people you don't know- agreed but, our card was never declined( again your machine was down, not our fault).. this is one situation on where because is not the customer's fault you can't treat the customer like if they are trying to commit some kind of fraud or scam. Next time: when your machine is down and it is your fault, and a customer waited 1 hour for you to solve your issue showing you the best intentions of paying- be respectful and trust.. honestly you were afraid of losing $22,00 yesterday and (thank God you did not because my husband got the cash and pay you).. now you loss thousands of dollars from a local family who eats out at least 5 times a week. Yesterday was our second visit in 1 week. We were happy to be back at your location and glad we had found a local business to visit weekly. We are beyond upset and offended by the way we were treated by you and the staff. A sorry cant fix...

I went for breakfast with my husband and every staff member really pitched in. If one person was busy doing one thing, another person took over for them. One person refilled coffees throughout the restaurant, another served, another came by to check on us.
Meal outings are such a great experience when the team works as great as they did that day. I wish more places did it like this. Food was tasty, pancakes fluffy, I like mine as pretty dense buttermilk pancakes but they were still enjoyable. I always look at breakfast places pics of their pancakes before going. (I’m trying to find a place that serves something similar to what I used to get back home in Chicago) Enjoy!
Side note: I loved the sign that was in between the restroom doors. Very cute decor in...
