We've been going to Dianna's for a few years now. We live about 2 hours away and make it apparent to travel to Port Clinton a few times a year, always ending at Dianna's for breakfast/lunch/dinner. It is by far one of our favorite restaurants. The service can't be beat - the staff are the best around. The food is amazing - I've never had anything there I didn't like. The menu is quite extensive and the prices are great. The best part is the food portions. We almost always have plenty to take home. I love the Dianna's house salad - they fill it full of fresh veggies (more than any restaurant I've been to). I would recommend the chicken philly or something from their breakfast menu. On a side note, we noticed during our last visit that they have begun adding a 20% gratuity to the dining bill - you can no longer choose the amount you want to tip; they will automatically include that for you. Just keep it in mind so that you don't add additional gratuity during the point of sale. We love Dianna's, but this practice is not fair to the patron.

Good breakfast spot!

I found this gem on Google Maps while on a road trip during the holidays. I looked for a hotel with a decent local restaurant close by where I could grab breakfast the next morning. I love good food and eating local, and LOVE breakfast. Dianna's was right across the street from a Holiday Inn Express (that was probably the CLEANEST hotel I've ever been in, regardless of stars!). Service was fast, excellent, and incredibly friendly, which I really appreciate as a solo traveler. Not a ton of "ambiance," but who cares because the food was DELICIOUS! Huge portions and cooked perfectly. It was totally worth going a little out of my way off of I-90 to rest and refuel with an amazing breakfast! Also, it's worth noting that it was Christmas Eve... it wasn't crowded, but it was wonderful and heartwarming to see a local place stay open for its regulars (and strangers like me) who may not have somewhere else to go. A good meal, a hot cup of coffee, and a smiling face can mean the world to people. THANK YOU to all the staff who were there!

TLDR- slow service, insanely bland food like they use no seasoning at all, long wait times even when they are not busy. The customers base all looked 60+, and they have a cheap senior menu with a good variety, but they use no seasoning in the food at all so this has to be an old peoples diner. And also the only reason they have so many good reviews. If you like flavor, RUN.

Very long review ahead. I might sound nitpicky or dramatic but this was the worst experience I've had out to eat since I can remember.

Ill start with a real head scratcher. Halfway through the meal the hostess says "I'm so sorry yall I'll just be a minute", then proceeds to vacuum 2 separate sessions for a total of 3 min. 3 minutes I just heard a vacuum screaming 10 feet from my table, in the middle of a conversation with my mom. Then overheard when she was done laughing with her coworker saying that she just hates to see the carpet dirty. The carpet was fine and just had a few pieces of the normal debris you get from walking outside, just a few tiny specks of dirt that she just HAD to vacuum at 3pm in the middle of lunch. I've worked in restaurants for 8 years this is just so unprofessional and rude to the customers trying to have a quiet lunch.

Horrible experience for my first time here. I've lived here for countless years and I'm glad this is my first time and last eating here. There were maybe 12 people seated and 5 tables when me and my mom walked in so they were not busy in the least.

Took about 10 minutes to recieve our waters. Put in the order for us to split the meatloaf. Waited WAY too long for that aswell about 15- 20 minutes for an already made dish that just needs to be reheated in a dead diner. Almost positive they forgot about the food because when it arrived it looked insanely dry and was lukwarm at best. It had a crust on it like it was reheated using a cast iron skillet which is odd to me as I don't want my meatloaf to look and feel like the bottom of elephants foot. It was super bland, and texture was dry and crusty from the reheating using the cast iron.

Mashed potatoes were not creamy, had no flavor AT ALL, NONE. And the texture was that of instant, but I don't think they were becuse at least instant has a teeny bit of flavor. They definitely don't use any seasoning as far as I could tell.

If you are an old person who can't taste things anymore or just don't like seasoning this is the...

Of all my years coming up to the area, I had never been here until now. The "grandparents" (friends that are chosen family), enjoy this place. They forgot how large the portions were! Let me emphasize that; the portions are large and generous! The menu is very large and extensive, it should be easy to find something for everyone. They had the Dianna Burger with fries, and the perch dinner with home fries, corn and salad. I had the Blackened Chicken with rice pilaf, and steamed broccoli; it also came with a cup of soup and a salad. The creamy potato soup was thick and flavorful, and reminded me of the roux of chicken pot pie; minus the chicken and vegetables. I highly recommend their house salad dressing. It tasted like it was creamy Italian-style dressing. We visited during dinner time and considering the extra precautions surrounding COVID, it went very smooth. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was server communication. We had to ask what the soup and side choices were that came with our meals; I was not sure what soup I was getting until I asked. Also, the salads are made fresh. So if you want to minus the onion, tomato or cucumber, or add something, just ask. This is a restaurant where you take your check up and pay your bill. We waited at our table for our server to come back around until the employee who was clearing tables came within ear shot for us to ask if we take it up ourselves. Overall, I definitly will go back, and i suggest you do too. I can add this to the list of restaurants to have a meal the next time I'm at...

Usually I have a much better experience at Dianna's. Today, I ordered Eggs Benedict like I do so many other times when stopping into Dianna's while in town. This time my eggs came out raw. While cutting into the egg white, I was greeted with a river of runny slimy clear egg. I thought about sending them back but figured if the cook couldn't tell those eggs were raw.... What's the chances they would get it right next time. A cook should know enough to jiggle the eggs when they hit the plate to see if the whites are still liquid under the outer skin. A little harder to tell once they cover the eggs in warm... Yes warm.... Hollandaise sauce. I digress, I decided to push the eggs to the side of my plate and eat the potatoes, ham, and muffins trying not to think about the raw eggs that probably contaminated the muffin and ham.

I was half expecting my waitress to notice my uneaten eggs and assume there was a problem, being that I ordered them and didn't eat them. Again, I made an assumption. I was handed my bill as she took my plate of raw eggs.

I'm really kind of bummed out. I've had breakfast here probably 10 times a year for the last 4 years. I've left great reviews online including Yelp. Not sure if I'm going to chance it again or find a new Breakfast spot...
