Great and fun concept for sure! Especially with everyone itching to be outdoors!
Set up: 3 small buildings: 1. Food/kitchen, 2. Bathrooms, 3. Beer/drinks. Decent size parking lot (but will feel crazy when it's super busy) and street parking avaliable. Get in a line and order/pay. For food they will text you when it's ready and if you don't go up to the counter, they walk around and call out your order #. For beer/drinks: order and step to the side for your order.
Food: we enjoyed everything! BUT Kitchen set up needs work, took most people 1.5-2 hours to get their food, something needs to change about this. (People got a refund and left as they got h-angry lol)
Beer: we got there about 5:45 and half the beers were tapped out 🙄, about 6:30, I think only 1 or 2 beers were available. They have wine and Coke/Diet Coke too. Luckily I brought water.
Service: someone was always walking around checking for empty cups and plates, clearing tables, was great.
Tables: plenty and a variety of tables and chairs and picnic tables, first come first serve (but felt scarce to us as it was crazy busy - went on a Sat evening). It's a fenced in area, assuming doors are locked when closed.
Bathrooms: very clean, well kept, a few stalls each.
Tips: don't come hungry, order food first, enjoy some beers, plan to stay a while. (Or pack your own food and just come for beer?? Lol) Pluses: pet friendly, pretty lights, warmth (if you're by the firepit and stand up heater, and if they're on), Foosball and corn hole, cute/nice environment with music.
We'd def go back but maybe not on a Sat evening unless we've...
Read moreAfter being disappointed last week by the place being closed for no apparent reason and understanding things can happen, I went back tonight (Saturday), arriving about 5:00. Staff was quite pleasant, letting me know the wait would be an hour, fine. Enjoyed several very nice Hoffbrauhaus Dunkel while waiting. Thankfully some friends had thought they’d have a beer and go someplace for dinner. Beer was a touch pricey but, not gouging. And they ran out of two kinds of beer by 6:00 PM on a Saturday night? This brings me to the food. Disappointing is the kindest term I can use. The spaetzle was ridiculously cold and flat, nothing along the lines of any flavor aside from boiled flour and dull “frying”. The schnitzel? Well, if you expect something beautifully fried and hot, this is not it. My wife had the kraut schnitzel, (again cold), the sauerkraut was fair but, unimpressive. My Jagerschnitzel was cold, and even gristly, the breading was a bit more greasy than I’d have liked but, again, things happen. The mushroom gravy might as well have been from a jar. Nothing memorable to be sure. It was a take out order but, I was literally four minutes away from home and had this order gone in the take out containers right out of the fat, it might not have been this disappointing. I am very sorry to be this disappointed but, I had enjoyed so many very well, carefully prepared, HOT meals at “Chau Haus” I was really hoping this would be good. I don’t know that I’ll be back,...
Read moreCame here with my wife for dinner on Friday. A friend had referred us here and I was intrigued. Upon arriving you definitely are in a totally unique vibe unlike anything else in this area. Though I've never actually been to Europe, let alone Germany, I still felt a strong European vibe here, which was really cool. Being an authentic biergarten, it's entirely outdoors, which we were more than ok with thanks to cooperative weather.
The service here is very good, not only are they nice but they're honest with their recommendations. I got the Jagerschnitzel and my wife got the currywurst. Both were absolutely amazing! That sauce that gives the currywurst its name is incredible! And that jagerschnitzel? I seriously think its the best schnitzel I've ever had! Delightfully flavorful overall and perfectly cooked, with a to-die-for mushroom gravy 😋 And it's huge!
And of course at an authentic German eatery you must get beer. I think mine was called Palsner. It was...
