Angelo’s — Restaurant in Kalamazoo

Our first visit. We got a tour of the menu and pointers in the most popular items. We chose a gourmet pizza, chicken alfredo, which has a creamy sauce and bacon along with chicken and onion.

Now, the lady at the counter told us that their bread and pizza dough is made fresh, and their motto appears to be "the dough makes the difference", but that crust is fantastic. We've been to a lot of regions and eaten specialties in the pizza genre for many years, but only a few times have we found this type of melt in your mouth, delicate, almost buttery crust. There are chewy crusts I like, and crispy crusts I like, but this delicate, bready style is the type I like best.

And the whole pie was put together with great care, nothing slap dash. Just enough sauce without going soggy, generous toppings, arranged with balanced so that the flavors worked together in every bite. No...

Been there a few times. Food is always pretty good albeit a little pricier than the quality you get. Went in the other day and ordered carry out on my lunch break and it took over 30 minutes to get my food. They need to tell people if they can't get food out in a timely manner. There seemed to be no sense of urgency or even a "sorry it took so long" when I finally got my food. To top it off, while I was waiting I saw the guy working the register grab and eat some chips out of the bag I had just watched the cook get chips for a order. The best pizza we've ever had in Michigan. The service is phenomenal, like....they remember your face and always greet you in a friendly manner, all of them. They are always fast and will go above and beyond if you need it. Like one day, they saw me struggling with my toddler and order in hand and they carried my order to the car for me so I didn't drop it and so I could safely escort my toddler to the car. Anyway, I never take pictures because the food doesn't last that long once we get it home but just amazing food and service all around....
