I went to country cafe and was excited to try their breakfast. I went with a few adults. The waitress was nice and attentive, but the food was very disappointing. The coffee was super light and tasted like it came from a dirty coffee machine. The country potatoes were cold and hard (very undercooked); you could see they were mostly pieces with dark spots , not appetizing and lacked salt(seems like poor quality potatoes). The biscuits and gravy also had no flavor and left a greasy mouthfeel (like artificial fat was used). The French toast was delicious except it was heart breaking to see they do not use butter, they only use margarine that leaves a greasy residue in your mouth and has no flavor. The country fried steak was super tough and stringy and lacked seasoning. I don’t like things overly salted but this food had no flavor and left you with nothing but grease in your mouth. Also, restrooms had no toilet seat covers, no hand soap, and no paper towels. Sadly, we will not...
Read moreI visited the cafe for the first time, and I wasn't disappointed! The fried pickles appetizer was delicious! I also had the fish and chips and I was delighted with the flavor of the fish. They were perfectly crunchy on the outside. The fries were pretty good, though they could've used more salt. My only complaint about the fish and chips is that the basket they came in was too small to comfortably cut into the fish, so I had to use my appetizer plate to eat it. I got 4 good-sized pieces of fish and a pile of fries, and I honestly ended up taking home half of my meal. It could very well be half the size and still be worth the same price! The 2 people I dined with agreed that their meals were very large, and they both ended up taking half of their meals home, as well. All in all, I had a great experience and will definitely return to this...
Read moreThe ham & eggs breakfast was delicious with plenty leftover to take home. My step mom was not impressed with the sandwich she ordered which is traditionally on rye bread. Apparently they don't buy rye bread. The service? We could choose our table. We were given the menus, our drinks & never saw a waitress again. We had to flag down one after about waiting for 20-30 minutes. Finally got our meals but I had to wait & wait for my toast. Again we had to flag down a waitress to get my toast & there was only one slice cut in half. Would I go back again? Yes. I'll give them another try but I won't sit at Table 13, it obviously was jinxed! (and it's even near the...
