The women working (sorry I'm horrible with names) is very educated on the families history and takes pride in retelling the story of the Zalud family. Thank you for the amazing guided tour!!!
Yes there was a murder that took place but there is so much more history to learn and see. The way it is preserved and the Why it was preserved is so interesting.
You need a good 2 hours to really feel, hear and see all the history but you could spend less time. We didn't set aside enough time and I wish we had we were there about 1 1/2 hrs.
Don't forget to visit the garden.
It cost $3 adult and I think $1 a kid. This is NOT A PLACE TO TAKE YOUR SMALL OR MISBEHAVED CHILDREN. But kids who are old enough to appreciate history or like historical things would enjoy it.
There were fans going but it can get hot in there so prepare for it.

Heather showed us around was very knowledgeable, we definitely got our money’s worth. We both liked the fact that everything is original family artifacts. As for paranormal, downstairs we didn’t feel anything but when upstairs in Annie’s room with “the chair” you get a heavy feeling in your chest at the door way. Update... I returned 4/6/18 and Zalud House was open. Heather and Benny, the two Curators, were lovely! I thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the house and gardens. It is a beautiful museum, containing all the original furnishings and possessions of the original owners. If you can visit during the cool spring weather, you will find the historic roses in bloom. When the heat arrives, the garden shuts down and extreme heat may force the house tours to close until more favorable weather returns. It is WELL worth the time and...
