Bam Pow Burgers — Restaurant in Portland

My husband and I grabbed an early lunch at Bam Pow! Burgers today, and we were super impressed! Our chicken sandos were stellar—crispity crunchity (though not peanut buttery, thank God) breading, moist, delectable meat, soft, toasted buns, fresh, crisp lettuce, and subtly flavorful pickles, all perfectly enhanced by the sweet, spicy, umami Bam! Pow! Sauce. The fries (included with the sandwich, which is practically unheard of these days) were fresh and delicious. And best of all, the mac & cheese! Oh, the mac & cheese! Al dente spiral noodles (the hollow kind, which hold lots more of the cheese sauce!) with kale and bacon. Our Boston terrier, Triscuit, was so excited she was licking the air around the box just to experience the essence of that divine cheese sauce, and when I went to offer her a piece of the bacon she got so worked up she had a wheezing, hyperventilating fit. Do not eat here! They steal your money and won’t offer a refund! I ordered online as that is the only method. They took my order and then promptly closed! I then got a text stating my order was ready. I went up to the cart and asked about my order and he said he had no orders. When I asked for a refund the manager Mark said “sorry user error” and would not refund my 28 dollars. I apparently ordered incorrectly but was not going all the way to the other location. He did not care and said I needed to talk to the person at the other location. He pretty much laughed in my face! I called the other location and they were understanding and said I would need to talk to his manager which turned out to be Mark at the Barley Pod. I will never eat here again! Beware of...

In a rush this morning at 10, I stopped and got Popeyes chicken sandwich. It was disappointing and I'd heard people have actually had fisticuffs over fast food sandwiches.

The Fried Chicken Sando at Bam Pow is worth fighting over, but don't...just bring friends and buy a few. I didn't know it came with fries for $10. Fresh spuds! Hot and crisp! The sandwich itself was huge and I couldn't finish it. Crunchy browned breading, homemade pickles, fresh bun, and their sauce. I'm not sure what flavors were in the sauce, but it complemented well.
