My child was a patient at doernbecher. We were told we could get snacks/meals from the cafeteria at no cost using a slip of paper that was given to us with my daughter's name and patient id on it. First time utilizing this, my daughter's nurse took her down there, but forgot the slip. The nurse said that my daughter's wrist band should be enough. So my daughter grabbed some snacks (it was hard at the time to get her to eat). They wouldn't accept the wrist band or the fact that a nurse was with her (my daughter was even in a wheelchair). My daughter ended up being wheeled away embarrassed and upset. Another nice nurse ended up going back for us, and got my daughter some treats. Fast forward a few days later, I took my daughter back, but only after being reassured by the hospital staff caring for my child. This time with the slip that's supposedly required. We grabbed a few things, and went to hand the cafeteria lady the slip -(my daughter also had her wrist band showing)-, the cafeteria lady immediately told us we "can't do that", and called the manager over. We were 100% treated like we were trying to steal! No empathy/consideration for a patient who is a child. This needs to change!! Appalling behavior/management for a hospital cafeteria!...
Read moreIt’s about what you’d expect for a hospital cafeteria. The coffee was decent (pretty good for a cafeteria dispenser honestly). The pizza was pre-made and put in a toaster oven for 3mins. I got pepperoni, which was mild, the cheese was well grilled, and the base was fluffy. I also got a slice of tiramisu cake (not pictured) and later, a cheesecake, both of which were quite tasty and creamy. The kiwi guava Celsius energy drink was sharper (citrusy) and less sweet than expected - it has an odd aftertaste maybe from the guarana so I wouldn’t recommend it. The drinks are well priced for a cafeteria but obviously more cost effective to bring your own. Spent about $10 for each snack plus...
Read moreThe first night I got the meatball sub. It looked really good BUT the bread was so hard you couldn't bite into it. Got a plastic knife and broke that right away. Ended up only eating the meatballs. The next day I got the chicken cordon blue. Had flavor and was edible, maybe even tasty. My wife had that salad bar which she was very happy with. On the weekend it's the only place available in...
