Honestly, I understand that everyone has “off days” but the waitress at this wine bar was just beyond rude. She continued to make my group party feel like we were in the wrong and not welcomed every time we talked. For starters, she disappeared every time we wanted to order and gave us less than ten seconds before she left. Once ordering the cheese plate, she mistakenly placed our baguette on it and when asking for the separate order of just bread and oil, made it sounds like we weren’t clear with our order. The first glass of wine I received was corked. Honey, I know what corked wine is. There were pieces of cork in the wine and it had a very foul taste to the wine; which I usually love. After many times of ignoring the table, messing up, and having zero interest in interacting with the table and making me feel like I didn’t understand what corked wine was; I realized I will not return to this place. At least I was in good company and like the group I was with or this night would have been a total flop.
P.S. She said this in response to the corked wine, “Have you never had a bottle of wine that has had the residue at the bottom:...
Read moreCorkscrew used to be my go to wine bar when I lived in the Sellwood area. Very relaxed and intimate atmosphere. The interior is small, but has an upstairs which looks over the majority of the bar. There are rustic tables and chairs with unique (dim) lighting all over. There are also two nook-ish spots directly across from the bar. These are neat because of the settee seating and easy access to the bar ;) Oh and did I mention they have a GIANT wall of wine!?
You can order glasses of wine or bottles and they also have beers on tap. I always pick 3 bottles which look good to me and have someone working there help me choose which to buy and drink there. I usually try and get a couple friends to go so we can split a bottle, play some cards and listen...
Read moreSuper cute wine bar! The cheese board was so tasty and just the perfect amount of food! I was hesitant when booking the live music cause sometimes it’s too loud, but the group did very beautiful classical numbers and I was actually sad when they left. The atmosphere is just a perfect setting. And I loved my red wine flight. It has the perfect trio of pairings and our waitress was great. I forgot her name. It might have been Jessica? She had brown hair and a really pretty engagement ring. Anyway, her service was wonderful. I can’t wait to come back when covid restrictions have lifted and we can sit inside. The outside patio is cute, but not a big fan of all the cars driving by. Not the restaurants fault tho! If you want a cute little date night...
