By and large, this park is somewhat underutilized - at least the day we were there. Yes, the weather was hot in the afternoon, which may have curtailed some families use of the park. A big concern for some people - especially those with toddlers - is the copious amounts of goose guano on the grassy areas. In some areas it can best be described as prodigious. This precludes walking barefoot on the grass. By the same measure, at least one wading pool should be considered little more than decorative. Unless there is updated signage advertising potential users that the resident water fowl have not fouled the pool water so as to make the water a bio-hazard for waders and model boat enthusiasts. The sports fields and pucnic areas are reasonably well maintained. One suggestion to the Park Bureau would be to place recycling bins beside the trash receptacles in the park. This would be beneficial to picnic groups who want to be as environmentally responsible as possible, while saving them the back-haul of those recyclable items back home at the end of the day, and reduce the amount of trash at...
Read moreWould totally be a 5 star rating for a beautiful park with a lot of things to do there. However, why I did not give it a full 5 star rating is due to a bunch of people treating the parking lot as if it was a campground/garbage dump/outdoor storage faculty all in one. Due to this becoming a more well known park they let people continue to do this the rating is coming close to a 3 star, sadly. Even though the park is beautiful great for walking, enjoying a nice day, playing basketball, tennis, baseball, soccer, taking the little ones to a really cool playground with running water they can make there own streams in a sandbox type area, trees to climb, picnics, and a lot more. Its definitely worth checking out! Thankfully it is a big park so the camping/trash ground/eye sore isn't that bad of an issue yet that you don't have plenty of room to go to get it out of eye range. Hopefully, soon they will fix this issue, and when they do my rating will quickly go to 5 stars. Hope this was helpful for y'all, and if you do check it out you enjoy yourself...
