Holly Rose Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Portland

I am extremely disappointed every time I order coffee from this cafe. My order has been made incorrectly almost every time I have gone in and the drinks are overall not made well. For example when I had asked for an extra shot of espresso in an iced latte, there was only one shot when there was supposed to be 4. I could tell that there was only one shot because the drink was not mixed and all the milk was sitting at the top (the espresso was put in first before the milk which is not good practice as is). I also have always asked for a very small amount of syrup (half pump or less) and I consistently see the baristas put in large full pumps each time. I could understand an occasional mishap if they were busy but I am typically the only customer ordering at that time or there are 2-3 people ordering drinks in total. I’m glad I did! Music choice really set the vibe, plenty of seating and cool patterns all around. Super awesome atmosphere and service.

I ordered a Cubano, which the sweet barista accommodated me with. Sometimes I’ve been denied since the brown sugar can “harm” machines. But their expertise and care for quality excelled. Beyond even my own order.

The shop is right next to a library- heavy foot traffic indeed! Lots of parents and children… but in and out they went!! QUICK SERVICE!

The barista was really kind, and the flavor of the coffee was good. The rose latte would have been perfect if there weren't the rose petal crumbles as garnish, while drinking the coffee I kept getting the wet flower bits in my mouth and it wasn't very pleasant. It's a very Portland style cafe, I honestly feel a little uncomfortable with how sterile and minimalist shops like this are, it doesn't feel like a place I would sit down at or bring someone on a coffee date to. The chairs are all hard metal and not comfortable to sit in for more than a few minutes. I would love if the prices were listed next to the items on the menu...
